5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your steamer.

  1. Emptying the Water Tank: After each use, ensure the steamer is unplugged and cooled down. Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water. This prevents mineral buildup and bacterial growth.
  2. Cleaning the Ceramic Plate:
    • With the steamer unplugged and completely cool, wipe the ceramic heating plate with a soft, damp cloth.
    • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the surface.
    • For stubborn residue, a mild detergent can be used, but ensure it is thoroughly wiped off.
  3. Descaling (if necessary): If you notice reduced steam output or white mineral deposits, descaling may be required.
    • Mix a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% distilled water.
    • Fill the water tank with this solution.
    • Plug in the steamer and allow it to heat up.
    • Steam the solution until the tank is empty (do this in a well-ventilated area, away from fabrics).
    • Repeat the process with plain distilled water to rinse out any vinegar residue.
  4. Storage: Ensure the steamer is completely cool and dry before storing. Store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging or the provided storage bag, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
