Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Wash the carafe, carafe lid, reusable carafe filter, single-serve filter basket, and K-Cup pod holder in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are also dishwasher-safe (top rack recommended).
- Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Empty and rinse the water reservoir daily.
Descaling (Auto-Clean Function)
Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. The "CLEAN" indicator light will illuminate when descaling is recommended. It is advised to descale every 60-90 days, or more frequently in areas with hard water.
- Ensure the coffee maker is empty of coffee grounds or K-Cup pods.
- Fill the water reservoir with 1 cup of white vinegar and 3 cups of cold water.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the "CLEAN" button. The "CLEAN" indicator light will flash, and the cleaning cycle will begin.
- The cleaning cycle will take approximately 45-60 minutes. During this time, the coffee maker will brew a portion of the cleaning solution, pause, and then complete the cycle.
- Once the "CLEAN" light turns off, discard the vinegar solution from the carafe.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh water and run two full carafe brew cycles with just water to rinse the system thoroughly.
