Operating Your Earbuds
Wearing the Earbuds
The HUAWEI FreeClip earbuds feature an open-ear C-bridge design for comfortable and lightweight wear. Each earbud weighs approximately 5.6 grams. They are interchangeable, with self-adaptive left-right audio channels, meaning you can wear either earbud on either ear.

Touch Controls
The earbuds utilize touch controls on three main areas: the acoustic ball (near the ear canal), the C-bridge (on the side), and the comfort bean (on the back of the ear).
- Double-tap/Triple-tap: Customizable actions for play/pause, next/previous song, or voice assistant.
- Volume Adjustment (Experimental): Tap and hold the acoustic ball to increase volume; tap and hold the comfort bean to decrease volume. Haptic feedback indicates volume changes.
Smart Features
- Smart Wear Detection: Music automatically pauses when an earbud is removed and resumes when put back in.
- Drop Detection: If an earbud falls out, the remaining earbud will emit a beep to alert you.
- Head Control: Answer incoming calls by nodding your head or reject calls by shaking your head (configurable via the app).
- Low Audio Latency Mode: Improves audio-visual synchronization, especially useful for gaming.
- Auto-Switch Left & Right: If earbuds are placed on the wrong ears, a slight head dip will reset the audio channels.
Call Quality
The earbuds offer great call quality, particularly excelling in windy conditions due to advanced noise reduction. While you cannot mute the microphone directly from the earbuds, you can adjust call volume.
Maintenance
Water and Dust Resistance
The HUAWEI FreeClip earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance. This means they are protected against limited dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. They are suitable for sweaty workouts and use in light rain.
