3. Setup Instructions

Setting up your CROWN SHADES 8x8 Pop Up Canopy is designed to be quick and straightforward, ideally with two people.

  1. Unpack the Canopy: Remove the canopy frame from the STO-N-GO carry bag. The bag features integrated wheels for easy transport.
  2. Expand the Frame: With a person at each end, grasp the frame in both hands at the top of the vertical legs. Lift the frame slightly off the ground and walk backward, expanding the frame until it is about half open.
  3. Attach the Canopy Fabric: Drape the canopy fabric over the partially expanded frame. Secure the fabric to the frame using the new Fast Clip system and any hook-and-loop fasteners.
  4. Lock the Center Hub: Step inside the canopy. Locate the patented one-push center lock technology hub. Push the central hub upwards until it locks the poles in place with a snap.
  5. Extend the Legs: Press the soft, pinch-free buttons on each leg and extend them to your desired height. There are three adjustable height settings.
  6. Secure the Canopy: For stability, use the provided sandbags (fill with sand or rocks), stakes, and guy ropes. The carry bag includes a specialized pocket for these accessories. Stakes can also be inserted directly into the base of the legs.

4. Operating Instructions

  • Adjusting Height: The canopy features three adjustable height settings. To adjust, press the red push-buttons on each leg and slide the inner leg to the desired height until it clicks into place.
  • Securing Fabric: The Fast Clip system ensures the canopy fabric is securely attached to the frame, preventing wind lift and reducing the risk of rain pooling.
  • Transporting (STO-N-GO System): When collapsed, the canopy can be easily moved using the integrated wheels in the feet. Simply lift the side without wheels and roll it away. The fabric can remain attached during storage and transport.

5. Maintenance

  • Frame Care: The high-grade, corrosion-resistant steel truss frame is designed for durability. Keep the frame clean and dry to prevent rust.
  • Fabric Care: The 150D fabric with silver coating provides UPF 50+ UV protection and is water-resistant and flame-resistant (CPAI-84). Clean the fabric with mild soap and water. Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
  • Rainwater Runoff: The extended ceiling assembly and high peak design facilitate rainwater runoff, reducing pooling. Regularly check for any debris that might obstruct water flow.
  • Sand Removal: If used on a beach, sand can be easily removed from the poles and fabric.

6. Troubleshooting and Safety

  • Windy Conditions: In really windy conditions, lower the height of the canopy to make it more stable. Always use sandbags, stakes, and guy ropes to securely anchor the canopy.
  • Rainy Conditions: While the canopy is water-resistant, it is recommended to take it down in cases of heavy wind or rain to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Secure Anchoring: This freestanding shelter should be used according to general safety guidelines for similar products. Ensure the shelter is securely anchored to a stable foundation.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not overload the structure. The frame is engineered to support up to 120 lbs. distributed across the frame.
  • Handling: Be cautious during assembly and disassembly, and handle components with care to avoid injury.
