The grinder consists of a main unit, a bean hopper with a lid, and a removable ground coffee container. A cleaning brush is also included for maintenance.

Setup

Unpacking:

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all packing materials are discarded properly. Verify that all parts are present before proceeding.

First Use:

Before initial use, clean all removable parts (bean hopper, lid, and ground coffee container) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth. Ensure the unit is completely dry before plugging it in.

Assembling the Grinder:

Place the main unit on a stable, flat surface.
Ensure the grinding burr is properly seated inside the main unit.
Place the bean hopper onto the main unit, aligning it correctly.
Insert the ground coffee container into its designated slot at the front of the grinder.
Place the lid securely on top of the bean hopper.

Operating Instructions

Adding Coffee Beans:

Open the lid of the bean hopper and pour whole coffee beans into the hopper. Do not overfill. Replace the lid securely.

Adjusting Grind Settings:

The Wancle grinder offers 28 precise grind settings, from extra fine (1-4) for Italian espresso to extra coarse (24-28) for French press. Rotate the top part of the bean hopper to select your desired grind size. Refer to the table below for recommended settings.

Setting Coffee Quantity:

Use the quantity dial on the front of the grinder to select the number of cups you wish to grind, ranging from 2 to 12 cups.

Starting the Grinding Process:

Once the grind setting and quantity are selected, press the power button located on the front of the unit. The grinder will automatically start and stop once the selected quantity is ground.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Daily Cleaning:

After each use, remove the ground coffee container and empty it. The anti-static treatment helps prevent grounds from sticking. Use the included brush to clean any residual grounds from the burr and the interior of the grinder.

Deep Cleaning:

For a more thorough cleaning, the grinding burr can be removed. Align the arrows on the burr and the grinder, then twist to unlock and lift out. Clean the burr with the brush and rinse the hopper and container with warm, soapy water. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

Q: Why does the number of cups of coffee powder come out less than the setting?: A: The number of cups is related to the size of the coffee beans and the coarseness of the ground coffee powder. The larger the coffee beans, the more space they take up, and the less coffee powder they grind. The coarser the coffee powder you set, the more space it takes up, and the more cups of coffee powder you can get. The finer the coffee powder you set, the fewer cups you can get.
Q: Why does the noise increase the finer the coffee powder you set?: A: The finer the coffee powder you set, the closer the distance between the two grinding heads, the longer the grinding time, and the louder the noise. But the ground coffee powder is finer and more uniform.
Q: Why hasn't the grinder started after pressing the power button?: A: First, the Wancle flat grinder has a safety protection mechanism. If the grinder head and coffee bean hopper are not installed correctly, the grinder will not start. Second, the power button, you need to touch the power button lightly for about 1 second. Sometimes the switch button is touched too lightly, and the switch spring is not pressed in place. The grinder will not start.
Q: Why does the coffee machine suddenly stop during the grinding process?: A: The Wancle flat grinder has an overheating protection system. If the machine overheats after grinding multiple times in a row, the grinder will automatically stop for protection. It will take about 10 minutes to cool down before restarting.
