3. Setup

3.1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the ATS200 radio. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the top of the device (refer to Figure 2) and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter (not included). The LED indicator will show charging status. A full charge ensures optimal battery life.

3.2. Antenna Connection

• Built-in Rod Antenna: For general reception, extend the built-in 820mm rod antenna located on the top of the device. Ensure it is fully extended for best performance.
• External Antenna: For enhanced reception, especially for SW, SSB, and MW bands, connect an appropriate external antenna to the 3.5mm external antenna interface at the bottom of the radio (refer to Figure 3).
• FM Headphone Antenna: When listening to FM radio, if headphones are connected to the 3.5mm stereo headphone output, the headphone cable can act as an FM antenna.

3.3. Powering On/Off

Locate the power button (usually integrated with the tuning knob or a dedicated button). Press and hold to power the device on or off. The screen will illuminate upon power-on.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Basic Operation

• Volume Control: Adjust the volume using the dedicated volume control on the touch screen or a physical knob if available.
• Touch Screen Navigation: Tap on icons and menus on the 2.4-inch touch screen to navigate through functions and settings.
• Encoder Knob: Use the rotary encoder knob for fine-tuning frequencies, navigating menus, and adjusting settings.
• Screen Lock: To prevent accidental input, utilize the touch screen and encoder locking function. Refer to the on-screen menu for activation.

4.2. Tuning and Mode Selection

• Band Selection: On the main screen, select the desired frequency band (FM, AM, SW, SSB, AIR) by tapping the corresponding button. The radio supports automatic band switching for AM/FM.
• Frequency Tuning: Use the rotary encoder knob to tune to specific frequencies. For faster tuning, you may be able to input frequencies directly via the touch screen keypad.
• SSB (Single Sideband) Tuning: For LSB and USB modes, use the fine-tuning capabilities of the encoder knob for clear reception.
• Aviation Band (AIR): Select the AIR band to receive aviation communications within the 118-138MHz AM range.

4.3. Special Features

• Bluetooth Connectivity:
  1. Navigate to the Bluetooth settings menu.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on the ATS200.
  3. On your Bluetooth earphones or speaker, enable pairing mode.
  4. Select your device from the list on the ATS200 screen to connect.
• LNA Amplifier: Access the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) setting via the menu. Toggle it on or off depending on signal strength and interference. Enabling LNA can improve reception for weak signals.
• Frequency Spectrum Scan: Activate the spectrum scanning function from the menu to visually identify active frequencies.
• Backlight Adjustment: Adjust the screen backlight brightness through the settings menu. An option to turn off the backlight is also available to conserve battery.
• LED Mini Flashlight: The radio includes a small LED flashlight at the top. Activate it via a dedicated button or menu option.
• FMRDS Information Display: When tuned to an FM station broadcasting RDS (Radio Data System) information, the ATS200 will display station name, song title, and other relevant data.

5.1. Cleaning

Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the housing and screen.
