General Safety Warnings
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, and sturdy footwear, during operation.
- Keep bystanders, especially children and pets, at a safe distance (at least 15 meters / 50 feet) from the operating area.
- Do not operate the blower in wet conditions or rain.
- Ensure proper ventilation when operating the engine. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, which is dangerous.
- Handle fuel with extreme care. Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool.
- Inspect the blower for loose parts, damage, or wear before each use. Do not operate if damaged.
- Never modify the equipment. Use only genuine replacement parts.

Figure 3.1: All components included in the package, laid out for assembly, including the main unit, various tubes, straps, funnel, and tools.
Assembly Steps
- Attach the Blower Tubes: Connect the flexible hose to the main blower unit. Secure it with the provided clamps. Then, attach the rigid sections of the air outlet pipe, ensuring they are firmly connected.
- Connect the Control Handle: Attach the control handle assembly to the air outlet pipe at a comfortable position. Ensure the throttle cable is properly routed and connected to the engine.
- Install Backpack Straps: Securely attach the thick and breathable backpack straps to the main unit. Adjust them for a comfortable fit before operation.
Fueling the Blower
This leaf blower uses a 4-stroke engine. Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 92# or higher. Do not mix oil with the gasoline.
- Ensure the engine is off and cool before refueling.
- Move to a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from open flames or sparks.
- Carefully open the fuel tank cap.
- Using the provided funnel, slowly pour up to 1.9 liters (0.5 gallons) of gasoline into the tank. Do not overfill.
- Securely close the fuel tank cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your SHZICMY backpack leaf blower.
Starting the Engine
- Place the blower on a flat, stable surface.
- Ensure the fuel tank is adequately filled.
- Set the choke lever to the 'START' or 'CHOKE' position (if applicable, refer to engine diagram).
- Pull the starter rope with a firm, steady motion until the engine fires or attempts to start. Do not pull the rope to its full extension.
- Once the engine fires, move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.
- If the engine does not start after a few pulls, repeat the process.

Using the Blower
- Once the engine is running, allow it to warm up for a few moments.
- Put on the backpack harness, adjusting the straps for a comfortable and secure fit. The thickened backrest helps insulate heat from the machine.
- Hold the control handle firmly. Use the throttle trigger to increase or decrease the airflow.
- For continuous operation at a desired speed, engage the cruise control lever on the handle. This allows for single-hand operation and better control.
- Direct the air outlet pipe towards the debris. The 168 cm (66.1 inch) pipe can be adjusted 180° up and down to target specific areas effectively.
- Work in a systematic pattern to move debris efficiently.

Stopping the Engine
To stop the engine, locate the engine stop switch (usually on the control handle or engine housing) and move it to the 'OFF' position.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your leaf blower.
After Each Use
- Clean the Exterior: Wipe down the blower with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
- Inspect Air Filter: Check the air filter for excessive dirt. Clean or replace if necessary.
- Check for Loose Fasteners: Ensure all nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
Periodic Maintenance
- Spark Plug: Inspect and clean the spark plug periodically. Replace if worn or fouled.
- Fuel Filter: Check and clean or replace the fuel filter as needed.
- Carburetor: The carburetor is designed for efficient fuel combustion. If performance issues arise, professional inspection may be required.
- Fuel Tank: The semi-clear fuel tank allows for easy monitoring. Drain the fuel tank if storing the blower for an extended period (more than 30 days) to prevent fuel degradation.
Storage
When storing the blower, ensure it is clean and dry. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. If storing for an extended period, drain the fuel tank completely.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your leaf blower.
Engine Does Not Start
- No Fuel: Check the fuel level in the tank. Refuel if necessary.
- Incorrect Choke Position: Ensure the choke lever is in the correct 'START' position for cold starts, and moved to 'RUN' after initial firing.
- Spark Plug Issue: Check the spark plug for fouling or damage. Clean or replace if needed.
- Flooded Engine: If the engine is flooded (strong smell of fuel), remove the spark plug, pull the starter rope several times to clear excess fuel, then reinstall the plug and attempt to start with the choke in the 'RUN' position.
Loss of Power During Operation
- Dirty Air Filter: A clogged air filter can restrict airflow to the engine. Clean or replace the air filter.
- Stale Fuel: Old or contaminated fuel can cause poor engine performance. Drain old fuel and refill with fresh gasoline.
- Spark Plug: A worn or dirty spark plug can lead to misfires and reduced power. Inspect and replace if necessary.
Excessive Vibration
- Loose Components: Check all fasteners, especially those securing the engine and blower tubes. Tighten any loose parts.
- Damaged Fan/Impeller: If the fan or impeller is damaged, it can cause imbalance and vibration. This requires professional service.
