5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SYNLETT Nurse Call System, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the Central Monitoring Unit and call buttons with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement (Call Buttons): While not explicitly detailed, call buttons typically use small, long-lasting batteries. Replace them when the signal strength appears weak or the button stops responding. Refer to the specific call button model for battery type and replacement instructions.
  • CMU Battery Backup: Periodically check and replace the 4 C-type backup batteries in the CMU to ensure continuous operation during power outages.
  • Storage: If storing the system for an extended period, remove all batteries from the CMU and call buttons to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Signal or Weak Signal from Call Button

  • Antenna: Ensure the CMU's antenna is fully extended.
  • Obstructions: Large metal objects, thick concrete walls, or multiple floors can significantly shorten the signal range. Try repositioning the CMU or call button.
  • Distance: Verify that the call button is within the specified 660-foot operating range (in open areas).
  • Batteries: Replace the battery in the call button.

6.2 CMU Not Responding or Displaying

  • Power: Check if the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the CMU and the wall outlet.
  • Backup Batteries: If using battery backup, ensure the C-type batteries are correctly inserted and not depleted.
  • Power Cycle: Unplug the CMU, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.

6.3 Incorrect Language or Tone

  • Use the 'LANGUAGE' button on the CMU to cycle through the available languages and tones until your desired setting is selected.
