hykolity 18-inch Outdoor Pedestal Misting Fan Instruction Manual

Model: HFA-0301

Important Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating this fan. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

  • Always unplug the fan from the power outlet before cleaning, servicing, or when not in use.
  • This appliance features a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is designed to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify this safety feature.
  • Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. If the cord or plug is damaged, discard the fan or return it to an authorized service facility for inspection and repair.
  • Do not run the power cord under carpeting, throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Keep the cord away from high-traffic areas to prevent tripping hazards.
  • To disconnect the fan, turn all controls to the OFF position, then remove the plug from the electrical outlet.
  • Avoid inserting fingers or foreign objects into any ventilation or exhaust openings, as this may cause electric shock, fire, or damage to the fan.
  • Do not block air intakes or exhaust openings. Do not use the fan on soft surfaces, such as a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • This fan is designed for outdoor use and is equipped with an IP44 waterproof motor and a GFCI plug for enhanced safety against electrical shocks in wet conditions.
  • Always ensure the fan is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent it from tipping over.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off and Speed Control:

The fan's speed is controlled by a pull chain switch located on the motor housing:

  • Pull the chain once for Low speed.
  • Pull the chain twice for Medium speed.
  • Pull the chain three times for High speed.
  • Pull the chain four times to turn the fan OFF.

Oscillation Function:

To activate the fan's 90-degree oscillation feature, push down the oscillation pin located on top of the motor housing. To stop the oscillation and fix the fan in one direction, pull the pin up.

Misting Function:

Once the water inlet pipe is securely connected to a water source and the fan is powered on, turn on the water supply. The misting nozzles will begin to spray a fine mist, providing an additional cooling effect.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the fan from the power outlet before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
  • The dense safety fences are designed to be removable for convenient cleaning. Carefully remove the front grill and clean the fan blades with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces of the fan with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, chemical solvents, or flammable liquids, as these may damage the finish or components.
  • Periodically inspect and clean the misting nozzles to prevent clogging from mineral deposits. Use a small brush or a thin pin to gently clear any blockages.

Storage:

  • When the fan is not in use for extended periods, store it in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and excessive moisture.
  • It is recommended to drain any remaining water from the misting system and disconnect the water inlet pipe before storing the fan.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Fan does not turn on.No power supply; GFCI tripped; Fan switch off.Check power outlet and plug connection. Reset the GFCI plug if it has tripped. Ensure the pull chain switch is set to a speed setting (Low, Medium, or High).
Misting function not working or weak mist.Water supply off; Clogged nozzles; Low water pressure.Ensure the water source is turned on and the water inlet pipe is properly connected. Clean any clogged misting nozzles. Verify adequate water pressure from your source.
Fan is noisy or vibrating excessively.Loose parts; Unstable surface; Debris in fan blades.Check all assembly screws and tighten them if necessary. Place the fan on a firm, level surface. Unplug the fan and carefully remove any debris from the fan blades.
Fan motor gets warm during operation.Normal operation for extended periods; Blocked ventilation.A warm motor is normal during extended use. Ensure the fan is not in an enclosed space and has adequate airflow around the motor housing. If overheating is severe or accompanied by smoke or unusual odors, unplug immediately and contact customer support.
