Setup & Installation

The BlackboxMyCar S-Drive is designed for quick and hassle-free installation, often taking under 5 minutes for basic setup. No specialized expertise is required for the main unit.

Main Unit Installation

1. Mounting: The display unit comes with an adhesive sticker bracket for dashboard mounting. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry before applying.
2. Power Connection: Connect the unit's Type-C power interface to your car's cigarette lighter adapter using the provided cable.

Rear Backup Camera Installation (Optional)

For automatic activation of the backup camera when reversing, you will need to connect the rear camera's power wire (short red wire) to your vehicle's reverse light wire and ground the black wire to the vehicle's frame. This may require professional installation or basic automotive wiring knowledge.

Operating Instructions

Connecting to Apple CarPlay / Android Auto

1. Ensure your smartphone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled.
2. On the S-Drive display, navigate to the 'Apple CarPlay' or 'Android Auto' icon.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your phone via Bluetooth. Once paired, the system will automatically establish a Wi-Fi connection for CarPlay/Android Auto functionality.

Using the Dashcam

The integrated front dashcam continuously records footage to the included 64GB microSD card. The rear camera also records if connected.

• Recording: Recording typically starts automatically when the device powers on.
• Playback: Access recorded videos through the 'DVR' or 'Playback' option on the main menu. You can review footage directly on the 10.26-inch screen.
• Loop Recording: The system supports loop recording, overwriting the oldest files when the memory card is full. Important footage can be manually locked to prevent overwriting.
• G-Sensor: The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions and automatically locks the current recording to a protected folder.

Backup Camera Functionality

If the rear backup camera is installed and wired to your vehicle's reverse lights, the display will automatically switch to the rear camera view when you engage reverse gear, providing a clear view with guiding lines for safe parking.

Audio Output Options

You can output audio from the S-Drive display to your car's sound system using one of the following methods:

• Internal Speaker: Audio can be played directly through the S-Drive's built-in speaker.
• AUX Connection: Use the provided AUX cable to connect the S-Drive to your car's AUX input for higher fidelity audio.

Troubleshooting

• Device Not Powering On: Ensure the cigarette lighter power cable is securely connected to both the device and the car's power outlet. Check if the car's power outlet is functioning.
• CarPlay/Android Auto Not Connecting: Verify that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone. Try restarting both the S-Drive unit and your phone. Ensure the device is selected in your phone's CarPlay/Android Auto settings.
• No Rear Camera Display: Confirm the rear camera cable is properly connected to the main unit. If wired for automatic activation, check the connection to the reverse light and ground.
• Poor Audio Quality (FM Transmission): Try selecting a different FM frequency on the S-Drive that is clear and free from local radio interference. Ensure your car's radio is tuned to the exact same frequency.
• Date and Time Issues: If the unit loses date and time settings, ensure it is consistently connected to power when the vehicle is in use. Connecting to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto should automatically sync the time from your phone.
