2. Setup and Connections

Before operating the machine, ensure all connections are secure and the work area is well-ventilated and free from flammable materials. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

2.1 Power Connection

The MCT-520DPL LED PRO features dual voltage auto-sensing (110V/220V). Connect the power cord to a suitable power outlet. For optimal performance, especially with higher amperage tasks, a 220V connection is recommended.

2.2 Component Connections

The machine comes with various components for different welding processes. Refer to the included components list and the machine's front panel for specific connection points.

  • Ground Clamp: Connect the ground clamp cable to the designated terminal on the machine and securely attach the clamp to your workpiece.
  • MIG Torch: Connect the MIG torch to the appropriate port. Ensure the welding wire is correctly loaded and fed through the torch. The machine supports 2-pound and 11-pound welding wires.
  • TIG Torch: For TIG welding, connect the WP-9F TIG torch. Ensure proper gas connection (pure argon for cold welding and precision TIG).
  • Plasma Cutting Torch: Connect the IPT-40 Plasma Torch. An external air compressor is required for plasma cutting. Connect the 3M Gas Hose to the machine's air inlet.
  • MMA Holder: For Stick welding, connect the MMA holder.

3.1 Mode Selection

Use the mode selection buttons on the control panel to switch between the different welding processes:

  • MIG Synergic Mode (S): Automatically adjusts wire feed speed and voltage based on selected parameters.
  • MIG Manual Mode (M): Allows independent adjustment of wire feed speed and voltage for fine-tuning.
  • CUT: For plasma cutting operations.
  • HF TIG: High-Frequency TIG for precise arc starting without touching the workpiece.
  • COLD WELD: Specialized low-heat output mode for thin materials, preventing deformation and discoloration.
  • LIFT TIG: Touch-start TIG mode.
  • MMA (Stick): For stick electrode welding.

3.2 Parameter Adjustment

Use the control knob and navigation buttons to adjust parameters such as amperage, voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow. The digital display provides real-time feedback on your settings.

  • 2T/4T Function: Select 2T for standard trigger operation (press to weld, release to stop) or 4T for continuous welding (press to start, release, press again to stop).
  • Spot Welding: For quick, precise spot welds.
  • Wire Size Selection: Choose the appropriate wire diameter (0.8mm, 0.9mm, 1.0mm) for accurate wire feed control.
  • Gas Type Selection: Select CO2, MIX (mixed gas), or FLUX (flux-cored wire) depending on your welding material and wire type.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ANDELI welding machine. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the machine's exterior and ventilation openings to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can hinder cooling. Use a dry, soft cloth.
  • Torch and Cable Inspection: Inspect all torches, cables, and connections for wear, damage, or loose fittings. Replace worn parts immediately.
  • Consumables: Check and replace MIG contact tips, plasma electrodes, nozzles, and TIG tungsten electrodes as needed. Ensure proper fit and condition.
  • Wire Feeder: Keep the wire feeder mechanism clean and free of debris to ensure smooth wire feeding.
  • Air Filter (for Plasma): If applicable, regularly check and clean or replace the air filter for the plasma cutting air supply to ensure clean, dry air.

5. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter. For problems not listed here or if issues persist, contact customer support.

  • No Power: Check the power cord connection, circuit breaker, and ensure the machine's power switch is ON. Verify the input voltage matches the machine's requirements.
  • No Arc/Poor Arc: Ensure the ground clamp is securely attached to a clean, bare metal surface. Check for proper electrode/wire installation and correct polarity. Verify gas flow (if applicable) and appropriate settings for the material and process.
  • Wire Feeding Issues (MIG): Check the wire spool for tangles, ensure the drive rollers are correctly tensioned and sized for the wire, and inspect the liner for blockages or wear.
  • Plasma Cutting Issues: Ensure adequate air pressure from the compressor. Check the plasma torch consumables (electrode, nozzle, swirl ring) for wear. Verify proper electrical connections for the plasma torch.
  • Overheat Protection: If the machine stops operating and displays an overheat warning, allow it to cool down. Ensure proper ventilation and avoid exceeding the duty cycle.
