Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Kindle is unresponsive: If your Kindle is frozen or not responding to touch, press and hold the power button for 40 seconds until the device restarts.
- Cannot connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct. Try restarting your Kindle and your Wi-Fi router. The Kindle does not support ad-hoc (peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.
- Battery not charging: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the Kindle and the power source. Try a different USB-C cable or power adapter if available.
- Books not downloading: Check your Wi-Fi connection. Ensure your Amazon account is correctly registered on the device.
- Screen flickering or ghosting: This is normal for e-ink displays. The screen refreshes periodically to clear residual images. If it persists or is severe, try a device restart.
