6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Moultrie Edge Pro camera.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Camera not connecting to network | Weak cellular signal; incorrect activation; expired data plan. | Relocate camera to an area with better signal. Verify activation status and data plan in the Moultrie Mobile app. Perform a test image capture. |
| No images/videos captured | Incorrect settings; dead batteries; PIR sensor obstructed; camera facing wrong direction. | Check camera settings in the app (e.g., detection delay, sensitivity). Replace batteries. Clear any obstructions from the PIR sensor. Use Live Aim to verify camera orientation. |
| Poor image/video quality | Dirty lens; low light conditions; subject too far or too close. | Clean the camera lens. Ensure adequate lighting for nighttime captures (within flash range). Adjust camera placement relative to the subject. |
| Excessive false triggers | Swaying vegetation; direct sunlight; small animals. | Enable False Trigger Elimination (FTE). Utilize Smart Zones to exclude areas with frequent false triggers. Adjust PIR sensitivity in the app. Clear vegetation in front of the camera. |
| Battery life is short | Frequent captures; cold weather; low-quality batteries; excessive video recording. | Reduce capture frequency or video length settings. Use high-quality lithium batteries. Consider a solar panel accessory for extended power. |
