Operating Instructions
How It Works
The Buzbug MA-015B attracts insects using its dual-color LED lights. Once insects are drawn to the light, they come into contact with the high-voltage internal grid, which physically eliminates them. The device operates silently until an insect is zapped.
Enhancing Effectiveness
- For flies, placing a small amount of sugar or a bowl of sugar water near the product can improve attraction and catch rates.
- Ensure the area around the zapper is as dark as possible to maximize the attraction of insects to the device's lights.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Insect Collection Tray
- Always turn off the power switch and unplug the bug zapper from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
- Locate the slide-out insect collection tray at the bottom of the device.
- Gently pull the tray out.
- Empty the collected insects into a waste bin.
- The tray is washable; clean it with water and mild soap if necessary, then dry thoroughly before reinserting.
- Slide the clean tray back into the device until it clicks securely into place.

Cleaning the High-Voltage Grid
- Ensure the device is turned off and unplugged. Wait at least 10 minutes for the internal grid to discharge completely.
- Use a screwdriver with an insulated handle (or the provided small brush) to carefully touch the inner high-voltage grid for 30 seconds to ensure it is fully discharged.
- Press both the left and right sides of the outer protective mesh to release it, then gently remove the mesh.
- Use the provided small brush to gently remove any stuck insect debris from the internal grid.
- Reattach the protective mesh by aligning it and pressing until it clicks into place.

LED Lamp Tube Replacement
The LED lamp tubes have a long lifespan of 25,000 to 50,000 hours. If replacement becomes necessary, follow these steps:
- Ensure the device is turned off and unplugged, and the grid is discharged as described above.
- Remove the back side of the unit to access the LED lamp tubes.
- Carefully rotate the tube until its base meets the slots of the tube holders, then take it out.
- Insert the new LED tube, ensuring it is securely connected and rotated to lock into place.
- Reattach the back side of the unit.
Troubleshooting
- Device Not Turning On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Ineffective Insect Attraction: Verify the device is operating in dim lighting conditions. Consider adding sugar water for flies to enhance attraction.
- Insects Zapped but Not Falling: This may indicate debris buildup on the grid. Follow the cleaning instructions for the high-voltage grid to ensure optimal performance.
