4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the device.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Connect a 9V dry battery to the battery connector.
- Place the battery inside the compartment and close the cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button to power the device on or off. The device features a 20-minute auto-shutdown function to conserve battery life.
5.2 Selecting Grain Type
- With the device powered on, press the MENU button to navigate through the grain type options.
- Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to scroll through the available grain types (e.g., Wheat, Maize, Rice, Soybean, Coffee Bean, etc.).
- Press the ENTER/SELECT button to confirm your selection.
5.3 Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the selected grain type matches the sample you are testing.
- Carefully fill the sensing bin with the grain sample. Ensure the bin is full for accurate readings.
- Securely close the cap on the sensing bin. The device will automatically begin the measurement process.
- The moisture content and temperature will be displayed on the LCD screen within approximately 1 second.

5.4 Adjusting Moisture Readings
The device allows for +/- adjustments to measurements to align with other grain dealer equipment. Refer to the device's menu for specific adjustment options.

The LCD screen displays the moisture percentage and temperature. The device also calculates and displays average statistics for multiple measurements.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
After each use, especially when changing grain types, ensure the sensing bin is clean and free of residual grain or dust. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently clean the interior of the bin and the sensor components. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.

6.2 Storage
Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the sensing bin is clean, the grain type is correctly selected, and the sample completely fills the bin. Calibrate if necessary.
- Device Not Powering On: Check the battery connection and ensure the 9V battery is not depleted. Replace if needed.
- Display Issues: If the display is dim or unreadable, check the battery. The device has a backlight adjustment feature; refer to the operating instructions for adjustment.
