This manual provides instructions for the proper use and care of your Curtis Stone 2-in-1 Reversible Cutting Board with Chute. Please read these instructions carefully before first use and retain them for future reference.
The cutting board features a reversible design: one side is a carving board with a juice channel and reservoir, and the other side is a smooth cutting board with a built-in chute for easy ingredient transfer.
Safety Instructions
- Always use caution when handling sharp knives on the cutting board.
- Ensure the cutting board is placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent slipping during use.
- Do not expose the cutting board to extreme temperatures, such as direct flame or prolonged soaking in hot water, as this may cause warping or damage.
- Keep out of reach of children when not in use.
Package Contents
- 1 x Curtis Stone 2-in-1 Reversible Cutting Board
- 1 x Removable Wooden Plug for Chute
Setup
Before first use, wash the cutting board thoroughly with warm soapy water and rinse well. Dry immediately with a clean cloth. It is recommended to season the board with food-grade mineral oil to protect the wood and prolong its life. Apply a generous amount of oil, let it soak in for several hours, then wipe off any excess.
Operating Instructions
Using the Smooth Cutting Board Side with Chute

- Place the cutting board with the smooth surface facing upwards.
- Ensure the removable wooden plug is securely in place in the circular chute if you do not wish to use the chute immediately.
- Chop or dice your ingredients on the smooth surface.
- When ready to transfer ingredients, carefully remove the wooden plug.
- Scrape the chopped ingredients directly into the chute, allowing them to fall into a cooking pot, mixing bowl, or waste bin placed underneath.

Using the Carving Board Side with Juice Channel

- Flip the cutting board to the side with the juice channel.
- Place roasted meats, poultry, or juicy fruits on the central raised area.
- Carve or slice your food. The generous juice channel around the perimeter will catch any liquids, preventing them from spilling onto your countertop.
- The reservoir at one end of the channel collects the juices for easy pouring or disposal.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Hand wash with warm soapy water immediately after each use. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a clean towel. Do not soak the board in water.
- Dishwasher Safety: This cutting board is not dishwasher safe. Dishwasher cycles can cause the wood to warp, crack, or split.
- Seasoning: To maintain the wood's integrity and prevent drying or cracking, regularly season the board with food-grade mineral oil. Apply oil every few weeks or as needed, depending on frequency of use.
- Storage: Store the cutting board in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Store flat or on its edge to prevent warping.
- Odor Removal: To remove strong odors, rub the board with half a lemon and a sprinkle of coarse salt, then rinse and dry.
Troubleshooting
- Warping: If the board begins to warp, it may be due to improper drying or exposure to excessive moisture. Ensure the board is dried thoroughly after washing and seasoned regularly.
- Cracking/Splitting: This can occur if the wood dries out too much. Regular seasoning with mineral oil is crucial to prevent this.
- Stains: For stubborn stains, a paste of baking soda and water can be applied, left for a few minutes, then scrubbed gently and rinsed.
