2. Safety Information
Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before using this product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always ensure the multimeter is in good working condition before use.
- Do not apply voltage exceeding the maximum rated voltage as marked on the multimeter.
- Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Keep fingers behind the finger guards on the test probes during use.
- Replace batteries immediately when the low battery indicator appears.
- Do not use the multimeter if it appears damaged or if the test leads are damaged.
- Always disconnect the test leads from the circuit before changing functions.
- Do not operate the multimeter in explosive gas, vapor, or dust environments.
3. Product Features
The BSIDE A1 Mini Multimeter is equipped with several advanced features for versatile and convenient measurements:
- Automatic and Manual Mode: Automatically identifies AC/DC voltage, resistance, frequency, and continuity. Manual mode is also supported for specific measurements.
- Large LCD with Red & Green Backlight: Features a clear 2.2-inch display with 2000 counts, showing test value, frequency/ambient temperature, and an analog bar. The backlight turns red when voltage exceeds 90V, indicating high voltage.
- 3-Result Display: Simultaneously shows the tested value, frequency, and an analog bar for easy intensity assessment.
- Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection: Detects AC voltage presence with adjustable sensitivity (90V-1000V / 12V-1000V) and a triple-mode alarm (audible, visual, analog bar).
- Live/Neutral Wire Check: Easily distinguishes live and neutral wires by comparing detected voltage strength.
- Continuity Test: An audible buzzer sounds if resistance is below 30Ω.
- Bright LED Flashlight: Integrated flashlight for working in dimly lit areas.
- Auto Range & Auto Power Off: Simplifies operation and conserves battery life.
- Low Battery Indication: Alerts when batteries need replacement.

4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the multimeter.
- Use the included screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the cover.
- Remove the cover.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten the screw.
4.2. Connecting Test Leads
- Insert the black test lead into the "COM" (Common) input jack.
- Insert the red test lead into the "INPUT" jack.
- Ensure the connections are firm before taking any measurements.

5. Operation
5.1. Power On/Off
Press the Power button (⑂) to turn the multimeter on or off. The device will automatically enter Smart Mode upon power-on.
5.2. Smart Mode (Automatic Identification)
In Smart Mode, the multimeter automatically identifies and measures AC/DC voltage, resistance, frequency, and continuity. Simply connect the test leads to the circuit or component you wish to measure.

Figure 5: The multimeter automatically selects the appropriate measurement function.
5.3. Manual Mode Selection
Press the SEL button to cycle through different measurement functions in manual mode. The selected function will be indicated on the display.
- Voltage Measurement (AC/DC): Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit. The multimeter will automatically detect AC or DC.
- Resistance Measurement: Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Connect the test leads across the component.
- Frequency Measurement: Connect the test leads to the signal source.
- Continuity Test: Connect the test leads across the circuit or component. An audible beep indicates continuity (resistance below 30Ω).
5.4. Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
The NCV function allows for safe detection of AC voltage without direct contact. Press the V-Alert button to activate NCV mode.
- Move the top of the multimeter close to the wire or outlet.
- The display will show "Lo" for low sensitivity (90V-1000V) or "Hi" for high sensitivity (12V-1000V).
- An audible alarm, flashing red backlight, and increasing analog bar segments indicate the presence and strength of AC voltage.
- High sensitivity is useful for detecting wires hidden in walls.

5.5. Live/Neutral Wire Check
This function helps identify live and neutral wires in an AC circuit.
- Insert the red test lead into the live wire or socket hole.
- The multimeter will indicate "Live" or "Neutral" based on the detected voltage strength. A stronger signal indicates a live wire.

5.6. LED Flashlight
Press and hold the SEL button to turn the built-in LED flashlight on or off. This is useful for illuminating dark work areas.

6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Wipe the multimeter casing with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Ensure the device is completely dry before storage or next use.
6.2. Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries as described in the "Battery Installation" section (4.1). Always use two new AAA batteries.
6.3. Storage
If the multimeter is not used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage to the device. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Multimeter does not power on. | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Check battery polarity or replace batteries. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Low battery, incorrect mode selection, or poor test lead connection. | Replace batteries, ensure correct mode (Smart or Manual), check test lead connections. |
| NCV function not detecting voltage. | Voltage too low, or not close enough to the source. | Ensure the multimeter is close to the AC voltage source. Check if the voltage is within the detection range (90V-1000V / 12V-1000V). |
| Continuity buzzer not sounding. | Resistance is above 30Ω, or circuit is open. | Verify the circuit is closed and resistance is below 30Ω. |
