Setup

1. Initial Winding

As an automatic watch, it requires initial manual winding if it has stopped or is being worn for the first time. To wind the watch:

  1. Ensure the crown is in its fully pushed-in position (position 0).
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will build up the power reserve.
  3. The watch will then continue to wind automatically with your wrist's natural motion.

2. Setting Time and Date

Refer to the side display image for crown positions and button functions.

  • Setting the Time: Pull the crown out to position 2. Rotate the crown to adjust the hour and minute hands. Push the crown back to position 0 when finished.
  • Setting the Date: Pull the crown out to position 1. Rotate the crown to adjust the date. Push the crown back to position 0 when finished.
  • Adjusting Week and Reverse Month: Use the small adjustment buttons located on the side of the watch case, typically above and below the crown. A small tool (not included) may be required to press these buttons. Press the top button to adjust the week window and the bottom button to adjust the reverse month subdial.

3. Strap Adjustment

The stainless steel strap can be adjusted to fit your wrist size. A complimentary adjustment tool is included to remove links. If you are unsure, it is recommended to have a professional jeweler adjust the strap.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Movement

Your OLEVS watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. This means it does not require a battery. The movement of your wrist winds the mainspring, providing power to the watch. If the watch is not worn for an extended period (typically 36-48 hours), it will stop. Simply manually wind it as described in the 'Initial Winding' section, or wear it for a few hours to restart the movement.

Calendar Functions

The watch features multiple calendar displays:

  • Day Window: Displays the current day of the week.
  • Date Window: Displays the current numerical date.
  • 24-Hour Subdial: Indicates the time in a 24-hour format, useful for distinguishing AM/PM.
  • Reverse Month Subdial: Displays the current month.

Luminous Display

The hands and hour markers are treated with a luminous material. After exposure to light, they will glow in the dark, allowing for time reading in low-light conditions.

Water Resistance Guidelines

This watch is rated for 30 meters (3ATM) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for showering, swimming, diving, or any activities involving prolonged water exposure or high-pressure water. Do not operate the crown or buttons when the watch is wet.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • For stainless steel bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.

Water Exposure

  • Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to hot water, steam, or extreme temperature changes, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.

Storage

  • When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields.
  • If storing for an extended period, consider placing it in a watch winder to keep the automatic movement running and lubricated.

Troubleshooting

Watch Not Running or Stopping Frequently

  • Insufficient Winding: Ensure the watch has been manually wound 30-40 times initially, and is worn regularly to allow the automatic movement to function.
  • Lack of Movement: If the watch is not worn for a day or two, it will stop. Manually wind it or wear it to restart.

Incorrect Time or Date Display

  • Improper Setting: Review the 'Setting Time and Date' section and ensure the crown is pulled to the correct position for adjustment.
  • Day/Date Change Time: The day and date typically change between 10 PM and 2 AM. Avoid adjusting the date during this period to prevent damage to the movement.
