2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview

The FanyiTek display kit consists of a 7-inch high-brightness LCD panel and a VGA controller board. The controller board manages video input and provides power and control signals to the LCD panel. A separate keyboard allows for OSD menu navigation.

  • Keyboard Connector: Connects the included keyboard for OSD control.

5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble and connect your LCD screen and controller board:

  1. Connect the LVDS Cable: Carefully connect one end of the LVDS cable to the 30P LVDS Interface on the RT2270C-806 controller board (refer to Figure 4.1). Connect the other end to the corresponding LVDS input on the back of the 7-inch LCD screen. Ensure the cable is oriented correctly and securely seated.
  2. Connect the Keyboard: Attach the keyboard cable to the Keyboard connector on the controller board. This keyboard is used for navigating the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
  3. Connect the VGA Signal: Connect your VGA source (e.g., computer, mini PC) to the VGA input port on the controller board using a standard VGA cable.
  4. Connect Power: Connect a 12V DC, 2A (or greater) power adapter (not included) to the Power Supply Input port on the controller board. Ensure the power adapter has a 5.5x2.1mm plug.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: After all connections are made, plug in the 12V DC power adapter. The controller board will enter standby mode if no signal is detected.
  2. Signal Input: Ensure your VGA source is powered on and outputting a signal. The screen should automatically detect the signal and display the image.
  3. OSD Menu Navigation: Use the buttons on the connected keyboard to access and navigate the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. Typical functions include:
    • Brightness: Adjusts the screen's overall luminance.
    • Contrast: Adjusts the difference between light and dark areas.
    • Auto: Automatically adjusts display settings for optimal viewing.
    • Language: Selects the OSD menu language (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, etc.).
    • Input: Manually select input source if multiple are available (though this model primarily supports VGA).
  4. Power Off: Disconnect the power adapter from the controller board to power off the device. The board consumes less than 1W in standby mode.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a non-abrasive screen cleaner. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.

9. Troubleshooting

  • No Display / Black Screen:
    • Ensure the 12V DC power adapter is correctly connected and providing power.
    • Verify that the LVDS cable is securely connected to both the LCD panel and the controller board, with correct orientation.
    • Check if the VGA source is powered on and outputting a signal.
    • Try restarting the VGA source device.
  • "No Signal" Message:
    • Confirm the VGA cable is properly connected to both the controller board and the source device.
    • Ensure the VGA source device is configured to output a signal.
    • If your source has multiple outputs, ensure the correct one is active.
  • OSD Menu Not Responding:
    • Check the connection of the keyboard cable to the controller board.
    • Ensure the keyboard itself is not damaged.
  • Image Quality Issues (e.g., blurry, distorted):
    • Use the OSD menu's "Auto" function to automatically adjust display settings.
    • Adjust Brightness and Contrast settings via the OSD menu.
    • Ensure the VGA cable is not damaged and is securely connected.
