Setup and Assembly

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Wash the inner pots, lids, and steaming rack thoroughly with warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry completely. The main unit should be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

1. Place the cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
2. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.
3. Insert either the stainless steel inner pot or the ceramic pot into the main unit. Ensure it is seated correctly.
4. Place the appropriate lid on the pot.
5. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (120V AC).

Operating Instructions

The Tayama TSP-1000 features a user-friendly control panel for selecting various cooking functions and settings.

Basic Operation:

1. Add ingredients to the inner pot. Do not overfill beyond the MAX line.
2. Place the inner pot into the main unit and cover with the lid.
3. Press the On/Off button to power on the unit.
4. Select your desired cooking function (e.g., Rice, Soup, Steam). The corresponding indicator light will illuminate.
5. If desired, use the + and - buttons to adjust cooking time or set a delay timer using the Preset or Timer functions.
6. The cooker will automatically begin the cooking process.
7. Once cooking is complete, the unit will automatically switch to Keep Warm mode.
8. To turn off the unit, press the On/Off button again.

• Rice: For cooking various types of rice.
• Soup: Ideal for preparing broths and soups.
• Congee: Perfect for slow-cooked rice porridge.
• Steam: Use with the steaming rack for vegetables, dumplings, etc.

Delay Start (Preset): This function allows you to set a time for the cooking process to begin automatically. Use the Preset button and +/- buttons to set the desired delay time (up to 9.9 hours).

Timer: Use this function to manually adjust the cooking duration for certain programs after selecting them.

Keep Warm: The cooker automatically enters this mode after cooking. Press the Keep Warm button to manually activate or deactivate this function.

Care and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your Tayama Electric Stew Cooker.

Cleaning:

1. Always unplug the cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. The stainless steel inner pot, ceramic pot, lids, and steaming rack are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
4. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or steel wool, as these can damage the surfaces.
