1. Introduction

4. Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your dehumidifier.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the dehumidifier on a firm, level surface in the desired room. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space around the unit for proper airflow. Do not block the air inlet or outlet.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the specifications of the unit.
  4. Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is correctly inserted into the unit. The unit will not operate if the tank is full or incorrectly positioned.

5. Operating Instructions

Operating your BEKO BDPO 010 Dehumidifier is straightforward using the touch control panel.

5.1 Control Panel Overview

5.2 Basic Operation

  1. Power On/Off: Press the Power button to turn the unit on. Press again to turn it off.
  2. Setting Desired Humidity: Use the + or - buttons to set your desired humidity level. The unit will operate until the room humidity reaches this level, then cycle on and off to maintain it.
  3. Fan Speed: Press the Speed button to cycle through available fan speeds (e.g., Low, High).
  4. Timer Function: Press the Timer button to set the operating duration (e.g., 1-12 hours). The unit will automatically turn off after the set time.
  5. Mode Selection: Press the Mode button to select different operating modes as per your requirement. Refer to the display for current mode.

5.3 Emptying the Water Tank

When the water tank is full, the unit will stop operating, and the Full Tank Indicator will illuminate. Carefully remove the water tank from the side of the unit, empty the collected water, and reinsert the tank firmly until it clicks into place. The dehumidifier will resume operation.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.

6.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the air filter at the rear of the unit (refer to Figure 3.4).
  3. Gently pull out the filter.
  4. Wash the filter with clean water (below 40°C) and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it. Do not expose to direct sunlight or high heat.
  6. Reinsert the dry filter into its slot.

6.2 Cleaning the Unit Exterior

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these may damage the surface.

6.3 Storage

If the unit will not be used for an extended period:

  • Empty and clean the water tank.
  • Clean the air filter.
  • Unplug the unit and coil the power cord neatly.
  • Store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
