Setup

1. Initial Winding

Your OLEVS G6689 watch is an automatic mechanical timepiece. It is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or is running low on power, it requires initial winding:

  • Ensure the crown is in position 1 (fully pushed in).
  • Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide enough power reserve to start the watch.
  • Once started, normal daily wear will keep the watch wound.

2. Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2 (the outermost position).
  2. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Push the crown back into position 1 to start the watch.

3. Band Adjustment

The watch features a stainless steel band with a hidden double-button butterfly clasp. For proper fit, the band may need adjustment. A band adjustment tool is typically included. If you are unsure, it is recommended to seek professional assistance for band link removal or addition.

Operating the Watch

Automatic Mechanical Movement

The OLEVS G6689 utilizes an imported original mechanical movement. This movement is visible through the skeleton dial and the transparent case back. It operates without a battery, relying on kinetic energy generated by your arm's motion. It also supports manual winding as described in the "Initial Winding" section.

Luminous Function

The watch features a luminous function. The phosphorescent material on the dial and hands absorbs light energy when exposed to strong light. In dark environments, this stored energy is released as a green glow, allowing for clear time readability. The dial's starry sky design enhances this effect in the dark.

Water Resistance

This watch is rated for 30 meters (3ATM) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, such as splashes, rain, or accidental short immersion. It is not suitable for swimming, diving, or showering, as prolonged water exposure or high-pressure water jets can compromise the seals.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For the stainless steel band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to harsh chemicals, solvents, or detergents, as these can damage the case, band, or seals.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid sudden temperature changes or extreme temperatures, which can affect the watch's accuracy and water resistance.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, certain electronic devices) as they can interfere with the mechanical movement.
  • Storage: When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original box or a watch case.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: If the watch has stopped, manually wind it using the crown (as described in "Initial Winding"). If it still does not start, ensure it has sufficient power reserve from daily wear.
  • Inaccurate Time: Mechanical watches can be affected by external factors. Ensure the watch is not exposed to strong magnetic fields. If inaccuracy persists, professional servicing may be required.
  • Water Inside the Watch: If you notice condensation or water inside the watch, immediately take it to a professional watch repair service. Do not attempt to open the watch yourself.
