3. Product Overview

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation and Charging
The OLIGHT Diffuse uses a customized rechargeable 14500 Lithium-Ion battery with an integrated USB-C charging port. It is also compatible with standard AA batteries, though performance may vary. To access the battery, unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight.

To charge the customized battery, remove it from the flashlight and connect a USB-C cable directly to the port on the battery. The battery will indicate its charging status. Once fully charged, reinsert the battery into the flashlight with the positive (+) end facing the head of the flashlight, then securely screw on the tail cap.

4.2 Attaching the Lanyard
The included lanyard can be attached to the small loop on the tail cap for convenient carrying and to prevent accidental drops.
5. Operating Instructions
The Diffuse flashlight features a single side switch for all operations.
5.1 Basic Operation
- Turn On/Off: Single click the side switch to turn the flashlight on or off.
- Change Brightness Levels: When the flashlight is on, press and hold the side switch to cycle through Low, Medium, and High modes. Release the switch to select the desired mode. The flashlight has a memory function and will turn on in the last used mode (excluding Turbo and Moonlight).
5.2 Special Modes
- Moonlight Mode: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the side switch for approximately one second to activate Moonlight mode.
- Turbo Mode: Double-click the side switch quickly from any state (on or off) to activate Turbo mode. Double-click again to return to the previous mode.
- Strobe Mode: Triple-click the side switch quickly from any state (on or off) to activate Strobe mode. Single click to turn off or double-click to return to the previous mode.
5.3 Lockout/Unlock Function
- Lockout: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the side switch for approximately two seconds until the red indicator lights up briefly, then release. The flashlight is now in lockout mode to prevent accidental activation.
- Unlock: When in lockout mode, press and hold the side switch for approximately two seconds. The flashlight will activate in Moonlight mode, indicating it is unlocked.
5.4 Power Indicator
The side switch features a 3-color power indicator to display the remaining battery level:
- Green: Battery level > 60%
- Orange: Battery level 15% - 60%
- Red: Battery level < 15%
Note: When using standard AA batteries with a voltage below 3 volts, the indicator will always display red.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Water Resistance: The Diffuse is rated IPX8 waterproof. Ensure the tail cap is securely tightened before exposing the flashlight to water.
- Battery Care: If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent potential leakage or damage. Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
- Light not turning on:
- Check if the battery is inserted correctly with the positive (+) end facing the head.
- Ensure the battery is charged.
- Verify the flashlight is not in lockout mode (see section 5.3).
- Dim light or short runtime:
- The battery may be low. Recharge the customized battery or replace the AA battery.
- Intermittent operation:
- Ensure the tail cap is securely tightened.
- Clean the battery contacts and threads with a cotton swab.
