Product Overview and Features

The DUMBORC P6F Receiver is a compact and reliable component for your RC setup. Key features include:

  • 6-Channel Capability: Supports up to 6 channels for versatile control of RC cars, boats, and airplanes.
  • Wide Voltage Range: Operates within a voltage range of 3.3V to 10V, supporting high-voltage steering gear.
  • Long Control Distance: Capable of receiving signals from over 400 meters, though actual distance may vary based on environmental factors like metal interference.
  • Fast Frequency Response: Achieves a rapid 12ms frequency response for precise control.
  • Compact Size: Dimensions of approximately 35mm x 20mm x 13mm, making it easy to integrate into various models.
  • Gyro Inside: Some versions of the P6F receiver include an internal gyroscope for enhanced stability and control.

Note on Versions: Some users may receive an updated version of the P6F Receiver. Both versions have the same core functionality. The primary difference may be in the label design (e.g., "P6F" vs. "X6F" or different sticker appearance).

Setup: Binding (Matching Code)

To establish communication between your DUMBORC transmitter and the P6F receiver, follow these binding steps:

  1. Proximity: Place the transmitter and the receiver close to each other, ideally within 50 centimeters (approximately 20 inches).
  2. Power On: First, turn on your DUMBORC transmitter. Then, power on the P6F receiver.
  3. Initiate Binding: Locate the small black binding button on the P6F receiver. Press this button twice within two seconds and then release it.
  4. Observe LED: The receiver's signal LED will begin to blink. Continue to observe the LED.
  5. Confirmation: After approximately five blinks, the receiver's signal LED should turn solid (always on), indicating that the binding process was successful.

Figure 4: Detailed diagram of a DUMBORC receiver (X6F model shown, similar to P6F) illustrating the antenna, binding button, binding LED, and channel ports (CH1-CH6) for rudder, throttle, and auxiliary functions.

Once bound, the receiver will remember the transmitter. You should not need to re-bind unless you are pairing it with a different transmitter or encounter connection issues.

Operating Instructions

After successful binding, connect your servos, ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), and other components to the appropriate channels on the P6F receiver. Refer to Figure 4 for channel assignments:

  • CH1: Rudder (Steering)
  • CH2: Throttle
  • CH3-CH6: Auxiliary channels for additional functions (e.g., lights, winches, gear shifting), depending on your RC model and transmitter capabilities.

Ensure all connections are secure before operating your RC vehicle. Always power on the transmitter first, then the receiver, and power off the receiver first, then the transmitter, to prevent unexpected movements.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DUMBORC P6F Receiver, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Keep Clean: Regularly clean the receiver and its ports to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can affect connectivity. Use a soft, dry brush or compressed air.
  • Protect from Moisture: Avoid exposing the receiver to water or excessive humidity. If used in wet conditions, ensure it is properly waterproofed or protected.
  • Secure Mounting: Mount the receiver securely within your RC model to prevent vibrations and impacts from damaging internal components or dislodging connections.
  • Antenna Placement: Ensure the antenna is positioned correctly and not pinched or damaged, as this can significantly impact signal range.
  • Inspect Connections: Periodically check all wire connections to the receiver for looseness or corrosion.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DUMBORC P6F Receiver, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Receiver not binding / LED not solid after binding attempt.
  • Ensure transmitter and receiver are within 50cm during binding.
  • Verify the binding button was pressed correctly (twice quickly, then released).
  • Check power supply to the receiver (3.3V-10V).
  • Ensure the transmitter is powered on and functioning correctly.
  • Try repeating the binding process carefully.
Loss of signal / Intermittent connection during operation.
  • Check the antenna for damage or improper placement. Ensure it's extended and not obstructed by metal.
  • Operating environment may have excessive interference (e.g., large metal objects, other 2.4GHz devices).
  • Ensure receiver power supply is stable.
  • Verify the range is not exceeded (max 400 meters).
No response from servos/ESC.
  • Confirm the receiver is successfully bound (LED solid).
  • Check all connections from servos/ESC to the receiver's correct channels.
  • Ensure servos/ESC are powered correctly.
  • Test components individually if possible.

If issues persist after attempting these steps, please contact DUMBORC customer support for further assistance. Provide details of your setup and the problem encountered.
