Note: 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries are required for operation and are not included in the package.

Controls:

• MODE Button: Cycles through Clock, Timer, Stopwatch, and Alarm modes. Used to enter setting mode.
• HOUR Button: Adjusts hours.
• MIN Button: Adjusts minutes.
• SEC Button: Adjusts seconds.
• START/STOP/RESET Button: Starts/stops functions, activates/deactivates alarms, and resets values.
• Alert Mode Switch (rear): Selects between silent (LED flash), low volume, and high volume alerts.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device (refer to Figure 3).
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The display will activate once batteries are correctly installed.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Mode Selection

Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the available functions:

• Clock Mode: Displays the current time.
• Timer Mode: For countdown functions.
• Stopwatch Mode: For elapsed time measurement.
• Alarm Mode: For setting and activating an alarm.

6.2 Setting the Clock

1. In Clock Mode, press and hold the MODE button until the hour digits begin to flash.
2. Press HOUR to adjust the hour.
3. Press MIN to adjust the minutes.
4. Press SEC to adjust the seconds.
5. Press MODE again to confirm the time and exit setting mode.
6. To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, press the HOUR button while the hour digits are flashing.

6.3 Using the Timer (Countdown)

1. Switch to Timer Mode (display shows 0:00:00 or a previously set time).
2. Press HOUR, MIN, and SEC buttons to set your desired countdown time (up to 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds).
3. Press START/STOP/RESET to begin the countdown. The display will show the remaining time.
4. To pause the countdown, press START/STOP/RESET once. Press again to resume.
5. When the countdown reaches zero, the alarm will sound according to your selected alert mode.
6. To stop the alarm, press any button.
7. To reset the timer to the last set time, press START/STOP/RESET after the alarm has stopped. To reset to 0:00:00, press and hold START/STOP/RESET.

6.4 Using the Stopwatch

1. Switch to Stopwatch Mode (display shows 0:00:00).
2. Press START/STOP/RESET to begin counting up.
3. To pause the stopwatch, press START/STOP/RESET once. Press again to resume.
4. To reset the stopwatch to 0:00:00, press and hold START/STOP/RESET while it is paused.

6.5 Setting the Alarm

1. Switch to Alarm Mode (a bell icon may appear on the display).
2. Press and hold the MODE button until the hour digits begin to flash.
3. Press HOUR and MIN to set the desired alarm time.
4. Press MODE again to confirm the alarm time.
5. To activate or deactivate the alarm, press START/STOP/RESET. A bell icon on the display indicates the alarm is active.
6. When the alarm sounds, press any button to silence it.

6.6 Adjusting Alert Mode

The device offers multiple alert options. On the back of the timer, locate the alert mode switch (refer to Figure 3). Slide the switch to select your preferred alert:

• Silent Mode (LED Flash): The LED indicator will flash when the alarm triggers, with no audible sound.
• Low Volume (LED + Sound): The LED indicator will flash, and a low-volume audible alert will sound.
• High Volume (LED + Sound): The LED indicator will flash, and a high-volume audible alert will sound.

7. Mounting Options

The TFA Dostmann Digital Timer offers flexible placement options:

• Magnetic Attachment: The rear of the timer features two strong magnets, allowing it to be securely attached to metallic surfaces such as refrigerators or whiteboards (refer to Figure 3).
• Integrated Kickstand: A foldable kickstand on the back allows the timer to be placed upright on any flat surface, such as a countertop or desk (refer to Figure 4).
• Lanyard Eyelet: An eyelet is provided for attaching a lanyard or cord, making the timer portable for activities like sports or study (lanyard not included).

8. Maintenance

8.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the display or casing.

8.2 Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or the device functions erratically, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.

9. Troubleshooting

• Display is blank or dim:
  Ensure batteries are correctly installed with proper polarity. Replace old batteries with new 1.5V AAA batteries.
• Alarm not sounding:
  Check the alert mode switch on the back of the device. Ensure it is set to a sound mode (low or high volume) and not silent (LED flash only). Verify that the alarm function is activated (bell icon visible for alarm, or timer has reached zero).
• Buttons are unresponsive:
  Remove the batteries, wait for a few seconds, and then reinsert them to perform a soft reset. If the issue persists, replace the batteries.
• Incorrect time displayed:
  Follow the instructions in Section 6.2 to reset the clock.
