4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your LaView Indoor Security Camera:

4.1. Powering On

  1. Unpack the camera and its power adapter.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the camera's power input port.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The camera will power on and indicate readiness for setup (e.g., an LED indicator).

4.2. App Download and Account Creation

  1. Download the LaView app from your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Open the app and create a new account, or log in if you already have one.

4.3. Connecting to Wi-Fi

The LaView camera supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks for flexible and stable connectivity.

  1. In the LaView app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device.
  2. Select your camera model from the list.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. This typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on your phone with the camera, or entering your Wi-Fi credentials.
  4. Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you intend to connect the camera to during the setup process.

4.4. Mounting the Camera

The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a ceiling.

  1. Choose a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
  2. If mounting, use the provided screws and anchors to secure the camera base to the ceiling. Ensure the camera is securely fastened.

5. Operating Instructions

Once set up, you can utilize the various features of your LaView camera through the mobile app.

5.1. Live View and Multi-Platform Access

Access live video feeds from your camera anytime, anywhere.

  • Open the LaView app to view live streaming from your camera(s).
  • You can manage and view up to 9 camera feeds simultaneously within the app.
  • The system supports multi-platform viewing, allowing access from mobile devices (iOS & Android) and PCs. You can share access with up to 20 authorized users.

5.2. Motion Detection and Alerts

The camera is equipped with intelligent motion detection to keep you informed of activity.

  • When motion is detected, the camera will send instant smart alerts to your mobile device.
  • You can customize motion detection sensitivity and alert schedules within the app settings.

5.3. Two-Way Audio

Communicate with individuals near the camera using the two-way audio feature.

  • From the live view screen in the app, tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera's speaker.

5.6. Storage Options

Your camera offers flexible options for storing recorded video footage.

  • Cloud Storage: A 30-day free trial of US cloud storage is available. This service is based on AWS servers in the US, designed to encrypt your data and prevent video clip loss.
  • Micro-SD Storage: The camera includes a microSD slot supporting cards up to 128GB for local storage of recordings.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your LaView camera.

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the LaView app for available firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware updated ensures you have the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements.
  • Power Supply: Use only the original power adapter provided with the camera to prevent damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LaView camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Motion alerts not received
  • Ensure motion detection is enabled in the app settings.
  • Check your phone's notification settings for the LaView app.
  • Adjust motion detection sensitivity.
  • Verify the camera has a stable internet connection.
Two-way audio not working
  • Ensure your phone's microphone is enabled for the LaView app.
  • Check the volume settings on your phone and within the app.
  • Verify the camera's microphone and speaker are not obstructed.
MicroSD card not recognized
  • Ensure the microSD card is inserted correctly.
  • Format the microSD card using the option in the LaView app.
  • Verify the microSD card is not damaged and is within the supported capacity (up to 128GB).
