1. Product Overview
The EPOMAKER Ajazz AK820 Pro is a versatile 75% wireless mechanical keyboard designed for both gaming and productivity. It features a compact layout, a TFT smart display, and multiple connectivity options.

3. Setup and Connectivity
3.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to a powered USB port (e.g., computer, wall adapter). The keyboard features a 4000mAh battery for extended use.

3.2 Connectivity Modes
The AK820 Pro supports three connectivity modes: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB-C wired.
- USB-C Wired Mode: Connect the keyboard directly to your device using the provided USB-C cable. This mode also charges the keyboard.
- 2.4GHz Wireless Mode:
- Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver, typically stored in a compartment on the keyboard.
- Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Switch the keyboard to 2.4GHz mode using the physical switch on the back or side of the keyboard. (Refer to Figure 3.3 for switch location).
- Press FN + R to activate 2.4GHz pairing mode if needed.
- Bluetooth Mode:
- Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode using the physical switch on the back or side of the keyboard. (Refer to Figure 3.3 for switch location).
- Press FN + Q, FN + W, or FN + E to select one of the three available Bluetooth channels. The TFT screen will indicate the selected channel.
- Hold the selected FN + (Q/W/E) key combination for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light flashes, indicating pairing mode.
- On your device (computer, tablet, phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "AK820 Pro" to connect.

3.3 System Compatibility
The keyboard is fully compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems. Use the physical switch on the keyboard to select the appropriate operating system mode for optimal key mapping and functionality.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 TFT Smart Display and Knob
The integrated TFT screen provides real-time information and customization options. The rotary knob allows for quick adjustments.
- Display Information: Battery status, date & time, connectivity mode (Win/BT/2.4G), and OS display.
- Customizable Visuals: The screen supports custom GIF images.
- Knob Functionality: Primarily controls volume. Can be customized for other actions via software.

4.2 Backlight Settings
The keyboard features vibrant RGB backlighting with 1.6 million color combinations and south-facing LEDs for superior shine-through.
- FN + ↑: Increase Backlight Brightness
- FN + ↓: Decrease Backlight Brightness
- FN + \: Switch Backlight Effect
- FN + X: Turn On/Off Backlight

4.3 Customization Software
Advanced customization of key assignments, macros, and RGB lighting profiles can be done using the dedicated software. This software allows for in-depth control over the keyboard's functions and the TFT display.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance and appearance, regularly clean your keyboard. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the keycaps and chassis. For deeper cleaning, you can remove keycaps using the provided keycap puller and use compressed air to clear debris from underneath.
5.2 Hot-Swappable Switches
The AK820 Pro features hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to easily change mechanical switches without soldering. This enables customization of typing feel and sound.
- Using the provided switch puller, gently grip the switch and pull upwards to remove it from the PCB.
- Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB.
- Press the new switch firmly into place until it clicks. Ensure the switch is seated correctly and not bent.

The keyboard comes with pre-lubricated switches and plate-mounted stabilizers for a smooth typing experience.

5.3 Keycap Replacement
To replace keycaps, use the provided keycap puller. Gently hook the puller onto the keycap and pull straight up. To install new keycaps, align them with the switch stem and press down firmly until they are seated.
6. Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding:
- Ensure the keyboard is charged.
- Check the connectivity mode switch (USB-C, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth) and ensure it matches your connection method.
- For 2.4GHz, ensure the USB receiver is properly inserted.
- For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is paired and within range. Try re-pairing if necessary.
- Try connecting via USB-C cable to rule out wireless issues.
- 2.4GHz connection drops frequently:
- Ensure the USB receiver is not obstructed and is close to the keyboard.
- Avoid placing the receiver near other wireless devices that might cause interference (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other wireless peripherals).
- Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port.
- Backlight not working or incorrect:
- Press FN + X to toggle the backlight on/off.
- Adjust brightness using FN + ↑/↓.
- Cycle through effects using FN + \.
- Ensure the keyboard is not in a low-power state.
- TFT screen not displaying correctly:
- Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
- Check for firmware updates using the customization software.
- Resetting the keyboard:
- To perform a factory reset, press FN + SPACE BAR for a few seconds. This will revert all settings to default.
