7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

  • Disconnect the keyboard from all power sources before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe down the keycaps and case.
  • For deeper cleaning, use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean dust and debris from underneath with compressed air or a small brush.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

7.2 Replacing Switches and Keycaps

The Ajazz AK820 Pro is hot-swappable, allowing you to easily change switches without soldering.

  • Keycaps: Use the keycap puller to gently remove keycaps by hooking the puller onto two opposite sides of the keycap and pulling straight up. Align new keycaps with the switch stem and press down firmly until secure.
  • Switches: Use a switch puller (not included, but often comes with replacement switches) to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull straight up. When inserting a new switch, ensure the pins are straight and align with the holes on the PCB. Press down gently until the switch clicks into place. Do not force the switch, as bent pins can damage the PCB.
