Setup and Installation
Unpacking
- Carefully remove the stove from its packaging.

Placement
Place the stove on a stable, level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance around the appliance for ventilation and safety. Do not place the stove directly against flammable materials.

Electrical Connection
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local wiring regulations. Ensure the voltage and frequency rating of the appliance match your household electricity supply.
- The appliance must be connected to a dedicated circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection.
- Do not use extension cords or multi-plug adapters.
- Verify that the earthing connection is secure.
Operating Instructions
Using the Hob Plates
- Place a suitable pot or pan on the desired solid hob plate.
- Turn the corresponding control knob clockwise to select the desired heat setting (typically from 1 to 6, or Min to Max).
- The plate indicator light will illuminate to show the hob is active.
- After cooking, turn the control knob back to the '0' or 'Off' position. The indicator light will extinguish.
Using the Electric Oven

Oven Functions
- Conventional Bake: Uses heating elements at the top and bottom of the oven for even baking. Ideal for cakes, pastries, and roasts.
- Static Grill: Uses the top heating element for grilling. Suitable for toasting, browning, and grilling thinner cuts of meat.
Temperature Control and Preheating
- Turn the oven function knob to select either 'Bake' or 'Grill'.
- Turn the oven temperature knob to the desired temperature setting.
- Allow the oven to preheat for approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the set temperature. The oven indicator light will turn off once the temperature is reached.
- Place food inside the oven using appropriate bakeware.
- After cooking, turn both oven control knobs back to the 'Off' position.
Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Defy stove. Always ensure the appliance is cool and disconnected from the power supply before cleaning.
Cleaning the Exterior
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with warm, soapy water.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals as they can damage the finish.
- Dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.
Cleaning the Hob Plates
- Allow the hob plates to cool completely.
- Wipe away spills with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive hob cleaner specifically designed for solid plates.
- Ensure the plates are dry before next use to prevent rust.
Cleaning the Oven Interior
- Remove oven racks and any loose debris.
- Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For baked-on food, use a non-abrasive oven cleaner according to its instructions.
- Ensure all cleaner residue is wiped away before using the oven again.
Removable Inner Glass
The inner glass of the oven door can be removed for easier cleaning. Refer to the diagrams in the full manual for specific instructions on how to safely remove and re-install the glass panel.
