Setup

Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Inspect each piece for any signs of damage. If any items are damaged or missing, please contact Granitestone customer service immediately.

First Use Cleaning

Before first use, wash all cookware and bakeware pieces thoroughly with warm, soapy water. Rinse completely and dry with a soft cloth. This removes any manufacturing residues.

Seasoning (Optional for Enhanced Longevity)

While Granitestone cookware features a durable non-stick coating that typically does not require seasoning, an initial light seasoning can further enhance its performance and longevity. To season, apply a thin layer of cooking oil (such as vegetable or canola oil) to the non-stick surface. Heat the pan over low heat for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool. Wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel. Repeat this process periodically if desired.

Operating Instructions

Heat Settings

Due to the excellent heat conductivity of Granitestone cookware, medium to medium-low heat settings are generally sufficient for most cooking tasks. High heat should be avoided as it can damage the non-stick coating over time and is rarely necessary.

Utensil Compatibility

This cookware is designed to be compatible with metal utensils. However, for prolonged life of the non-stick surface, silicone, wooden, or plastic utensils are recommended.

Cooktop Compatibility

Granitestone cookware is compatible with gas, electric, halogen, and ceramic cooktops. Please note that this set is not induction compatible.

Oven Safety

All cookware pieces, including those with tempered glass lids, are oven safe up to 500°F (260°C). This allows for seamless transfer from stovetop to oven for finishing dishes.

Using Lids

The tempered glass lids allow you to monitor your cooking without lifting the lid, helping to retain moisture and heat. They are designed with steam vents to prevent boil-overs.

Using the Steamer Insert

The stainless steel steamer insert fits perfectly into the 5-quart stockpot. Fill the stockpot with water to just below the bottom of the steamer insert. Bring water to a boil, then place food in the steamer insert, cover with the lid, and steam until cooked to your preference.

Non-Stick Performance

Maintenance

Cleaning

All Granitestone cookware and bakeware pieces are dishwasher safe for quick and easy cleanup. For best results and to prolong the life of the non-stick coating, hand washing with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge is recommended. Avoid using steel wool or harsh scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick surface.

Storage

When storing stacked cookware, it is recommended to place soft cloths or pan protectors between each piece to prevent scratching the non-stick surface.

Troubleshooting

Food Sticking

If food begins to stick, ensure you are using appropriate heat settings (medium to medium-low). Excessive high heat can degrade the non-stick coating over time. Also, ensure the pan is clean and free of any residue from previous cooking.

Handles Getting Hot

The stainless steel handles can become hot during prolonged cooking, especially when used in the oven. Always use oven mitts or pot holders when handling hot cookware.

Discoloration

Minor discoloration may occur over time with regular use, particularly with certain foods or high heat. This typically does not affect the performance of the non-stick coating.
