3. Product Overview

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The camera requires 8 AA batteries (not included). For optimal performance, use high-quality alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries.

  1. Open the camera's latch and swing open the front cover.
  2. Locate the battery compartment at the bottom.
  3. Insert 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.

4.2 SIM Card and SD Card Installation

A SIM card is required for 4G functionality, and an SD card is necessary for storing media.

  1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
  2. Insert a standard-sized SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner oriented correctly. Push until it clicks into place.
  3. Insert a Class 10 or higher SD card (up to 256GB) into the SD card slot with the gold contacts facing down. Push until it clicks.
  4. To remove, gently push the cards until they spring out.

4.3 Mounting the Camera

Use the provided mounting strap to secure the camera to a tree or pole.

  1. Thread the strap through the slots on the back of the camera.
  2. Wrap the strap around the desired mounting object (tree, pole).
  3. Secure the strap tightly.
  4. Adjust the camera angle to cover the desired area.

5. Operating the Camera

5.1 Powering On/Off and Mode Selection

The camera has three modes: OFF, SETUP, and ON.

  • OFF: Camera is powered off.
  • SETUP: Allows access to the menu for configuration and viewing media. The camera will not record in this mode.
  • ON: The camera is active and will record based on its settings (motion detection, time-lapse). The screen will turn off after a few seconds to conserve power.

5.2 Menu Navigation and Settings

In SETUP mode, use the control buttons to navigate the menu.

  • UP/DOWN: Scroll through menu options.
  • LEFT/RIGHT: Change values for selected options.
  • OK: Confirm selection or enter sub-menu.
  • MENU: Exit current menu or return to previous screen.

5.4 Mobile App Connection

The RecorCam app allows remote control, viewing, and downloading of media.

  1. Download the "RecorCam" app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register an account and log in.
  3. Add your camera by scanning the QR code on the camera or manually entering its ID.
  4. Ensure the camera is in ON mode and has a stable 4G connection.
  5. You can now receive notifications, view live feed (if supported by model), change settings, and download files remotely.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the lens and PIR sensor window. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when performance degrades.
  • SD Card Management: Regularly format the SD card in the camera's menu to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries and store the camera in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting
