2. Safety Information

• Full Submersion: The heating rod must be fully immersed in water at all times during operation. Operating the heater out of water can cause damage and pose a safety risk.
• Overheat Protection: The heater features an automatic overheat protection function. If the water temperature exceeds 99°F (37°C), the display will show 'HH' and the heater will automatically shut off.

4. Setup Instructions

3. Placement: Position the heater fully submerged in your aquarium. For optimal heat distribution, place it in an area with good water circulation, such as near a filter outlet or pump. Ensure the heater is not buried in the substrate.

5. Operating Instructions

1. Power On: Once plugged in, the LED display on the external controller will show the current water temperature.
2. Set Temperature: Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the controller to adjust the desired water temperature. The set temperature range is 59-95°F (15-35°C). Each press adjusts the temperature by 1°F or 1°C.
3. Monitor Heating: The red indicator light on the controller signifies that the heater is actively heating the water. Once the set temperature is reached, the light will turn green, indicating that the heater is maintaining a constant temperature.
4. Change Temperature Unit: To switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), press and hold both the '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Periodically clean the heater surface to remove algae or mineral buildup. Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before removing it from the water for cleaning. Use a soft brush or cloth and aquarium-safe cleaning solutions if necessary.
• Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, fraying, or kinks. Do not use the heater if the cord is damaged.
• Submersion Check: Always ensure the heater remains fully submerged in water. If the water level drops, refill the tank to the appropriate level.

7. Troubleshooting

• Heater Not Heating:
  • Check if the heater is properly plugged into a functional power outlet.
  • Ensure the heater is fully submerged in water.
  • Verify that the set temperature is higher than the current water temperature.
  • Check the indicator light: if it's green, the set temperature has been reached.
• 'HH' Display: This indicates that the water temperature has exceeded 99°F (37°C) or the water level is too low. The heater has automatically shut off for safety. Check the water level and temperature. Allow the water to cool naturally or perform a partial water change if necessary.
• Inaccurate Temperature Reading: Allow the heater to operate for at least 72 hours to stabilize the tank temperature and for the sensor to acclimate. If discrepancies persist, compare with a separate, reliable aquarium thermometer.
