4. Setup Guide

4.1 SIM Card Installation

The device requires a 4G SIM card with active data and SMS services. Ensure the SIM card's PIN code is disabled before insertion.

  1. Gently slide open the SIM card cover on the tracker.
  2. Insert the activated 4G SIM card into the designated slot with the metal contacts facing down.
  3. Close the SIM card cover securely.

4.2 Wiring Diagram

Proper wiring is crucial for the tracker's functionality, especially for the remote engine cut-off feature. Consult a professional if you are unsure about the wiring process.

  • Red Wire: Connect to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
  • Black Wire: Connect to the negative (-) terminal (ground) of the vehicle's battery.
  • Orange Wire: Connect to the ACC (Ignition Detect) wire of the vehicle.
  • Yellow Wire (Relay Control): Connect to the relay for engine cut-off functionality.

4.3 Initial Power-Up and Charging

After wiring, connect the tracker to your car's power source and allow it to charge for at least one hour before first use to ensure the internal battery is sufficiently charged.

5.1 App Download and Login

To access the full features of your SinoTrack GPS Tracker, download the free mobile application or use the web platform.

  1. Search for "sinotrackpro" on Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS) and download the application.
  2. Open the app and select the server: vipsinotrack.
  3. Enter your username, which is the ID number located on the device.
  4. The initial login password is 123456. You may change this after your first login.

5.2 Real-time Tracking

The SinoTrack app and web platform provide real-time location updates of your vehicle. The positioning accuracy is up to 10 meters.

5.3 History Route Playback

The system stores up to 2 years of tracking history. You can view and playback past routes to review your vehicle's movements over specific periods.

5.4 Geo-fence

Set up virtual boundaries (geo-fences) on the map. You will receive alerts when the vehicle enters or exits these predefined areas.

5.5 Remote Engine Cut-off

In case of theft, you can remotely cut off the engine by sending an SMS command to the tracker's SIM card. The vehicle will stop moving within 10-20 seconds if its speed is below 20 KM/h. The command is 9400000.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SinoTrack GPS Tracker, follow these general maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the device dry and away from extreme temperatures.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Regularly check the SIM card's data and SMS balance to ensure continuous operation.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SinoTrack GPS Tracker, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:

7.1 Device Not Working Normally

  • SIM Card Activation: Check that the SIM card is activated according to its instructions.
  • SIM Card Presence: Verify that a SIM card is inserted.
  • SIM Card Direction: Ensure the SIM card is inserted in the correct direction.
  • Battery Level: If the device is out of battery, charge it for one hour before use.
  • Network Signal: If the yellow light keeps flashing, indicating no network, move the tracker to another location with better signal.
  • APN/IP/Port Settings: Send the SMS command RCONF from your phone to the tracker's SIM to get a reply. Check if APN, IP, and Port settings are correct.

7.2 Sending SMS Command Without Reply

  • SMS Origin: Ensure you are sending commands from your phone to the device's SIM card, not directly within the app.
  • SIM PIN: Check if the device's SIM card PIN code has been removed.
  • SMS Functionality: Verify that the device's SIM card has the function of sending text messages.

7.3 Username and Password Errors When Logging In

  • Server Selection: When logging in, select the server: vipsinotrack.
  • Initial Password: The initial login password is 123456.
  • Username: The username is the ID number printed on the device.
  • If you still cannot log in, please contact support.

7.4 Device Offline for a Long Time

  • Send the SMS command RCONF from your phone to the tracker's SIM. Check the reply to see if the APN is set incorrectly.

7.5 Device Sometimes Online, Sometimes Offline

  • SIM Card: Replace the SIM card with one that has a better signal.
  • Location: Drive to a location with good signal reception.
  • SMS Location: You can also send an SMS command of 6690000 to the device to obtain SMS location when the device is disconnected.

7.6 Device Not Online

  • Check device settings by sending RCONF to the device. The reply will show:
  • 1. If the APN is correct.
  • 2. If the IP and Port are correct (refer to the user manual for correct IP and Port).
