1. Important Safety Information
Before operating the DOVAMAN Electric Chainsaw DCS01A, please read this manual thoroughly. Failure to follow all instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
- Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, especially children and pets.
- Do not operate the chainsaw in wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or gases.
- Always disconnect the chainsaw from the power supply before making any adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use.
- Be aware of kickback. Maintain a firm grip with both hands and avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar.
- The power cord is 30 cm long. An appropriate extension cable (not included) is required for most uses. Ensure the extension cable is rated for outdoor use and sufficient amperage (circuit current higher than 15A).
2. Product Overview

3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the "Included Components" section are present and undamaged.
3.2 Guide Bar and Chain Installation
The chainsaw comes with a 40 cm Oregon guide bar and chain. Follow the instructions in the included user manual for proper installation. Ensure the chain is correctly seated in the guide bar groove and around the sprocket.
3.3 Tool-less Chain Tensioning (SDS System)
The SDS system allows for quick and easy chain tension adjustment without tools.
- Locate the yellow SDS knob on the side of the chainsaw.
- Rotate the knob to adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand.
- Important: Before starting the chainsaw, ensure the SDS knob is rotated to the tightest setting to secure the chain.

3.4 Adding Chain Lubricant
The chainsaw features an automatic oiler with a transparent window for easy monitoring.
- Unscrew the oil cap (yellow) and fill the 150 ml oil tank with appropriate chain lubricant.
- Monitor the oil level through the transparent window during operation. Refill as needed to ensure continuous lubrication.
- Note: Add oil before the first use and allow the chainsaw to run empty for 30 seconds to ensure proper lubrication of the chain.

3.5 Power Connection
Connect the chainsaw to a suitable power outlet. The chainsaw requires a circuit with a current higher than 15A. The integrated power cord is 30 cm long. An appropriate outdoor-rated extension cable (not included) is necessary for most applications.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting and Stopping the Chainsaw
- Ensure the mechanical chain brake is in the "Released" position (pulled back towards the front handle).
- Press the safety lock button (usually located on the side of the handle).
- While holding the safety lock button, press the ON/OFF switch (trigger) to start the chainsaw.
- To stop the chainsaw, release the ON/OFF switch.

4.2 Mechanical Chain Brake
The mechanical chain brake is a crucial safety feature. It stops the chain instantly in case of kickback or when activated manually.
- Released: Pull the brake lever back towards the front handle. The chain can move freely.
- Locked: Push the brake lever forward, away from the front handle. This engages the brake and stops the chain.
- Always ensure the brake is released before starting and engaged when carrying the chainsaw or in an emergency. The reaction time of the chain brake is 0.12 seconds.

4.3 Cutting Techniques
The 2400W pure copper motor provides a chain speed of 15 m/s, suitable for various woodworking tasks.
- The chainsaw is capable of cutting wood up to 38.5 cm thick. Do not attempt to cut materials with a diameter exceeding 385 mm.
- Avoid pressing the end of the guide bar into the material to prevent kickback.
- Maintain a stable stance and firm grip. Let the chainsaw do the work; do not force it.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Automatic Lubrication System
Regularly check the oil level through the transparent window and refill the 150 ml tank with suitable chain lubricant as needed. Proper lubrication is essential for chain and guide bar longevity and efficient cutting.
5.2 Chain Tension
Check chain tension frequently, especially during extended use. Adjust using the SDS knob as described in Section 3.3. A properly tensioned chain prevents premature wear and ensures safe operation.
5.3 Cleaning and Storage
- Always disconnect the chainsaw from the power supply before cleaning.
- Clean the chainsaw thoroughly after each use, removing sawdust, chips, and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Use the provided guide bar cover for protection.
5.4 Chain Replacement
Two spare chains are included in the package. Replace the chain when it becomes dull or damaged. Refer to the detailed instructions in the main user manual for chain replacement procedures.
