Maintenance and Care
Proper care will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your TISSOT watch.
1. Water Resistance
This watch is water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 meters / 330 feet). This makes it suitable for short periods of recreational swimming and showering. However, it is not suitable for diving or snorkeling. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.
2. Cleaning
- For the case and metal bracelet: Use a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry with a soft cloth.
- For leather straps: Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures. Clean with a dry, soft cloth.
3. Battery Replacement
Your watch is powered by a quartz movement requiring a battery. The product specifications indicate a 9V battery is included, which is unusual for a wristwatch and may be a general placeholder. For accurate battery type and replacement, it is highly recommended to take your watch to an authorized Tissot service center or a qualified watchmaker. Attempting to replace the battery yourself may void the warranty and damage the watch.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch, consider the following common solutions.
1. Watch Not Functioning / Dead on Arrival
If the watch does not start or stops shortly after initial use, the battery may be depleted. While a new watch should have a functional battery, instances of depleted batteries upon arrival have been reported. In such cases, contact Tissot customer support or an authorized service center for battery replacement under warranty, if applicable.
2. Incorrect Time or Date
Refer to the "Time and Date Setting" section under "Setup and Initial Use" to correctly set the time and date. Ensure the crown is fully pushed back into position 1 after setting.
3. Chronograph Not Resetting to Zero
If the chronograph hands do not reset to zero, ensure the chronograph is stopped before pressing the reset pusher (B). If the issue persists, a recalibration may be required by an authorized service center.
