Setup

1. Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the main unit and speakers on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

2. Connecting the Speakers

Connect the speaker wires from the main unit to the corresponding terminals on each speaker. Ensure correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative) for optimal sound quality.

3. Connecting the FM Antenna

Connect the supplied FM antenna to the FM antenna jack on the rear of the main unit. Extend the antenna for better reception.

4. Power Connection

Connect the AC power cord to the main unit and then to a wall outlet. The system will enter standby mode.

5. Initial Setup (First Use)

Upon first power-on, the system may guide you through initial setup steps, including language selection and network configuration. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Press the POWER button on the main unit or remote control to turn the system on or off (standby mode).

2. Source Selection

Press the SOURCE button on the main unit or remote control repeatedly to cycle through available input sources: CD, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Internet Radio, FM Radio, USB, Aux-in.

3. CD Playback

1. Select the CD source.
2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
3. Place a CD with the label side facing up.
4. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray. Playback will begin automatically.
5. Use PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, and SKIP buttons for control.

4. Bluetooth Pairing

1. Select the Bluetooth source. The system will enter pairing mode.
2. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
3. Select "Philips TAM8905" from the list to pair.
4. Once paired, you can stream audio from your device to the stereo system.

5. Wi-Fi and Internet Radio Setup

1. Select the Wi-Fi or Internet Radio source.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. You may need to enter your network password.
3. Once connected, you can access Internet Radio stations or use Spotify Connect.
4. For Spotify Connect, ensure your mobile device is on the same Wi-Fi network and select the Philips system as the playback device within the Spotify app.

6. FM Radio Tuning

1. Select the FM Radio source.
2. Use the TUNE +/- buttons to manually tune to a station or press and hold to auto-scan for the next available station.
3. To save a preset, press the PRESET button, then use the TUNE +/- buttons to select a preset number, and press PRESET again to confirm.

7. USB Playback

1. Insert a USB drive into the USB port on the front of the main unit.
2. Select the USB source.
3. The system will automatically detect and play compatible audio files (e.g., MP3).

8. Aux-in Connection

Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the AUX IN jack on the front of the main unit using a 3.5mm audio cable. Select the AUX IN source.

9. Sound Controls

Use the VOLUME knob on the main unit or VOL +/- buttons on the remote to adjust the volume. Press the SOUND MODE button to cycle through preset equalizer settings (e.g., Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classic, Flat) to optimize audio for different music genres.

10. Remote Control Usage
