3. Storage Device Installation

SATA Drives

  1. Connect one end of a SATA data cable to a SATA2.0 port on the motherboard.
  2. Connect the other end of the SATA data cable to your hard drive or SSD.
  3. Connect a SATA power cable from your power supply to the hard drive or SSD.

M.2 NVMe/NGFF SSD

  1. Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
  2. Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at a 30-degree angle.
  3. Gently push down the SSD and secure it with the provided screw.
  4. If necessary, adjust the jumper wire near the M.2 slot to select between NVMe (PCIe) or NGFF (SATA) mode, depending on your M.2 SSD type. Refer to the motherboard diagram for jumper location.

4. Power Connections

  1. Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your power supply to the main 24-pin power socket on the motherboard.
  2. Connect the 4-pin ATX 12V power connector from your power supply to the 4-pin power socket near the CPU.

5. Graphics Card Installation

  1. Locate the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.
  2. Remove the corresponding expansion slot cover from your PC case.
  3. Align your graphics card with the PCIe x16 slot and press it firmly until it is seated correctly and the retention clip locks into place.
  4. Secure the graphics card to the case with a screw.
  5. Connect any necessary PCIe power cables from your power supply to the graphics card.

6. Peripheral Connections (Rear I/O and Front Panel)

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Boot-up

  1. After all components are installed and connected, connect the power cable to your power supply and turn on the power switch.
  2. Press the power button on your PC case.
  3. The system should power on, and you should see a display on your monitor. If not, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

2. BIOS/UEFI Configuration

To enter the BIOS/UEFI setup, press the designated key (usually DEL or F2) repeatedly during the initial boot sequence. Within the BIOS/UEFI, you can configure various system settings.

  • Boot Order: Set the boot priority for your operating system drive.
  • Date and Time: Adjust the system date and time.
  • System Information: View details about your installed CPU, RAM, and other hardware.
  • Fan Control: This motherboard may have limited or no fan speed control options within the BIOS. Users have reported that fans may operate at 100% speed without adjustable control.
  • M.2 Mode: Ensure the M.2 slot is configured correctly for NVMe or NGFF mode if you are using an M.2 SSD.
  • UEFI/Legacy Boot: Configure boot mode as required by your operating system. This motherboard supports UEFI, TPM, and Secure Boot.

3. Driver Installation

After installing your operating system, install the necessary drivers for the motherboard's components (chipset, LAN, audio, etc.). These drivers are typically available on the manufacturer's website or included on a driver CD (if provided). Ensure you install the correct drivers for your operating system version.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Regularly clean dust from your computer case and motherboard components using compressed air.
  • Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on components.

2. BIOS Updates

Periodically check the manufacturer's website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, compatibility, and performance. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer carefully when performing a BIOS update, as an incorrect update can render the motherboard inoperable.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your motherboard, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/No Boot:
    • Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 4-pin CPU, PCIe power) are securely connected.
    • Verify the power supply is functioning correctly.
    • Check front panel connections (power button, reset button).
    • Try booting with minimal components (CPU, one RAM stick, GPU if no integrated graphics) to isolate the issue.
  • No Display/No Splash Screen:
    • Ensure your monitor is connected to the correct video output port (VGA or HDMI) on the motherboard or graphics card.
    • Reseat the graphics card and RAM modules.
    • Test with a different monitor or cable if possible.
    • If using a dedicated graphics card, ensure it is properly powered.
  • System Instability/Crashes:
    • Check RAM modules for proper seating.
    • Ensure CPU cooler is properly installed and making good contact.
    • Verify all drivers are installed and up to date.
    • Check for overheating issues (monitor CPU/GPU temperatures).
  • Fan Noise:
    • Some users have reported that this motherboard may not offer fan speed control, leading to fans running at 100% speed. This is a characteristic of the motherboard's design and may not be resolvable through software or BIOS settings.
  • M.2 SSD Not Detected:
    • Ensure the M.2 SSD is fully seated in the slot.
    • Verify the M.2 jumper setting is correct for NVMe or NGFF mode.
    • Check BIOS settings to ensure the M.2 slot is enabled and configured correctly.
