Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your solar panel and connect it to your Blink camera:

1. Choose a Location: Select an outdoor location that receives several hours of direct sunlight daily. Optimal sunlight exposure is crucial for efficient charging.

2. Mount the Bracket: Use the provided screws and wall anchors to securely attach the 360-degree mounting bracket to your chosen surface. The bracket allows for flexible positioning to maximize sun exposure.

4. Connect to Camera:
   • For Blink Outdoor (3rd Gen): Connect the micro USB cable directly from the solar panel to your camera's power port.
   • For Blink Outdoor 4 (4th Gen): Use the included USB C converter to connect the micro USB cable from the solar panel to your camera's power port.

5. Initial Charge: It is recommended to allow the solar panel to charge for at least two full days in direct sunlight before relying solely on its power. This ensures the internal battery is adequately charged.

Operating Instructions

Once installed and connected, the solar panel will automatically begin charging your Blink camera's internal battery when exposed to sunlight. The internal battery stores energy, providing power to your camera even during periods of low light or at night.

• The solar panel is designed to keep your camera powered 24/7 under normal operating conditions with sufficient sunlight.
• The 13.1ft/4m cable provides flexibility in positioning the solar panel for optimal sun exposure, even if the camera is in a shaded area.

Maintenance

The Wasserstein Solar Panel is built for outdoor use and requires minimal maintenance:

• Cleaning: Periodically wipe the surface of the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris that may accumulate and reduce charging efficiency. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Troubleshooting

If your Blink camera is not receiving power from the solar panel, consider the following:

• Cable Connection: Verify that the micro USB cable is securely connected to both the solar panel and the Blink camera. If using a USB C converter, ensure it is properly attached.

• Camera Battery Status: Check the battery status within the Blink app. The solar panel maintains the camera's battery at an "OK" status, which is equivalent to new batteries. There are no external indicators on the solar panel itself.
• Extreme Weather: In prolonged periods of heavy cloud cover or extreme cold, charging efficiency may be reduced. The internal battery helps mitigate this, but continuous poor weather can eventually deplete the charge.
