Setup and Initial Use
Before your first trip, familiarize yourself with the suitcase's features, especially the TSA combination lock.
TSA Combination Lock
Your Kono suitcase is equipped with a TSA-approved combination lock. The initial factory setting for the combination is 0-0-0.
- Unlocking: To unlock, ensure the combination is set to 0-0-0, then push the release button or slide the latch to open.
- Setting a New Combination:
- Set the dials to the current combination (factory default is 0-0-0).
- Locate the small reset button (often a small hole) on the lock. Use a pen or pointed object to press and hold this button until you hear a click.
- While holding the reset button, set your desired new 3-digit combination by turning the dials.
- Release the reset button. Your new combination is now set. Test it immediately to ensure it works correctly before scrambling the dials.

Side Handle
A comfortable side handle is provided for easy lifting and carrying, especially when placing the suitcase into overhead compartments or onto luggage racks.
360-Degree Spinner Wheels
Your suitcase features four multi-directional 360-degree spinner wheels designed for smooth and silent movement. These wheels allow for effortless navigation through airports and various surfaces, reducing strain on your arm and shoulder.

Interior Organization
The suitcase's interior is designed for efficient packing, featuring two main compartments:
- One fully zippered compartment with a mesh pocket, ideal for separating items or storing smaller accessories.
- An additional compartment with adjustable luggage straps to secure your belongings and prevent shifting during transit.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your Kono suitcase.
- Shell Cleaning: Wipe the polypropylene (PP) hardshell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, which can damage the surface.
- Zippers: Keep zippers clean and free of debris. If they become stiff, apply a small amount of zipper lubricant or wax.
- Wheels: Periodically check the wheels for any tangled hair or debris. Clean them gently with a brush if necessary. Avoid exposing wheels to excessive dirt or sand for prolonged periods.
- Handles: Ensure the retractable handle mechanism is free of obstructions. Do not force the handle if it feels stuck.
- Storage: Store your suitcase in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Stiff or Jammed Retractable Handle:
Ensure the release button is fully depressed. Check for any visible obstructions in the handle mechanism. Do not apply excessive force; gently wiggle the handle while pressing the button.
- Wheels Not Rolling Smoothly:
Inspect the wheels for debris (hair, lint, dirt) that might be caught in the axle. Clean them thoroughly. If a wheel is damaged, contact customer support.
- Zipper Difficult to Operate:
Check for fabric caught in the zipper teeth. Gently pull the fabric away. If the zipper is stiff, apply a small amount of lubricant (e.g., beeswax, silicone spray) to the teeth.
- Forgotten TSA Lock Combination:
Unfortunately, if you forget your combination and did not record it, there is no universal reset code. You may need to try combinations or contact a locksmith. TSA agents have a master key to open the lock without damaging it for inspection purposes, but this key is not available to consumers.
