Setup

1. Battery Installation:

   The AMST-B pen requires two AAA batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment cover, typically at the rear of the pen. Slide or unscrew the cover to open. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. Replace the cover securely.

2. Initial Check:

   After installing batteries, press the "TEST" button. The device should briefly illuminate one of the LED indicators, confirming it has power. If no light appears, check battery installation and charge.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On: The device powers on when the "TEST" button is pressed. It remains active as long as the button is held down.
2. Positioning the Pen: Hold the AMST-B pen with the tip probe facing the magnetic object you wish to test.
3. Performing the Test: Press and hold the "TEST" button. Gently bring the tip of the pen close to the surface of the magnet or coil.
4. Interpreting Results:
   • If the RED LED illuminates, the detected pole is NORTH.
   • If the GREEN LED illuminates, the detected pole is SOUTH.

5. Repeat as Needed: Move the pen around the magnetic object to identify different poles or to confirm the polarity across the surface.
6. Power Off: Release the "TEST" button to power off the device and conserve battery life.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the LED indicators become dim or the device fails to power on. Always use two new AAA batteries of the same type.
• Storage: Store the AMST-B pen in its protective case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
