Safety Information

Always read and understand the entire instruction manual before operating the generator. Failure to follow instructions can result in serious injury or death.

• Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Never operate the generator indoors or in poorly ventilated areas. Always use outdoors and far away from windows, doors, and vents.
• Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Always refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke while refueling.
• Electrical Shock Hazard: Never operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure proper grounding.
• Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces.
• CO-MINDER Technology: This system continuously monitors carbon monoxide (CO) levels and automatically shuts down the generator if unsafe levels are detected. Do not bypass or disable this safety feature.

Setup

Before first use, ensure the generator is placed on a level surface and is properly prepared with fuel and oil.

1. Adding Engine Oil

The generator does not come with engine oil. You must add the correct type and amount of oil before starting. Refer to the specifications section for recommended oil type.

1. Place the generator on a level surface.
2. Locate and open the oil access cover on the side of the generator.
3. Unscrew and remove the oil dipstick.
4. Using a funnel, slowly add the recommended engine oil (e.g., 5W-30) until the oil level is between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
5. Reinsert and tighten the oil dipstick, then close the oil access cover.

2. Adding Fuel

Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or any other fuel containing more than 10% ethanol.

1. Ensure the generator is off and cool before refueling.
2. Unscrew the fuel cap located on top of the generator.
3. Slowly pour gasoline into the fuel tank, observing the fuel indicator. Do not fill above the F-L (Full-Low) mark.
4. Securely tighten the fuel cap.

1. Starting the Generator

1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all electrical loads are disconnected.
2. Rotate the 3-in-1 switch (located on the side) to the 'CHOKE' position.
3. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
4. Once the engine starts, slowly rotate the 3-in-1 switch to the 'ON' position.
5. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes to warm up before connecting any electrical equipment.

2. Eco Mode Operation

The Eco Mode switch (ECO.SW) is located on the control panel. When activated, the engine speed automatically adjusts to match the electrical load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise.

• Flip the ECO.SW switch to 'ON' for quieter operation and better fuel economy when running light loads.
• Flip the ECO.SW switch to 'OFF' when connecting heavy loads or when maximum power is required.

3. Connecting Electrical Equipment

1. Ensure the generator is running stably.
2. Plug your electrical equipment into the appropriate AC 120V sockets or USB ports.
3. Monitor the overload indicator light. If it illuminates, disconnect some equipment to prevent damage to the generator.

4. Parallel Operation

To connect two LF2300i-2 generators for increased power, a parallel kit (sold separately) is required. Follow the instructions provided with the parallel kit for safe and proper connection.

5. Stopping the Generator

1. Disconnect all electrical equipment from the generator.
2. Rotate the 3-in-1 switch to the 'OFF' position.
3. Allow the engine to cool down before storage or transport.

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your generator. Always ensure the generator is off and cool before performing any maintenance.

1. Spark Plug Maintenance

1. Open the spark plug access cover (located on the top of the generator).
2. Remove the spark plug cap.
3. Use the provided spark plug wrench to loosen and remove the spark plug.
4. Inspect the spark plug for wear, carbon buildup, or damage. Clean or replace as necessary. Check the spark plug gap according to specifications.
5. Reinstall the spark plug and tighten it with the wrench. Place the spark plug cap back and close the cover.

2. Air Filter Cleaning

1. Unscrew the cover plate bolts and remove the cover plate to access the air filter.
2. Open the air filter housing and carefully remove the air filter element.
3. Clean the air filter element with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry completely. Alternatively, replace with a new filter if heavily soiled or damaged.
4. Reinstall the clean/new air filter element, close the air filter housing, and reattach the cover plate with its bolts.

3. Spark Arrestor Cleaning

After long-term operation, the spark arrestor should be cleaned to prevent carbon buildup.

1. Locate the spark arrestor cover on the rear of the generator.
2. Remove the cover and carefully extract the spark arrestor screen.
3. Clean the screen with a wire brush to remove carbon deposits.
4. Reinstall the clean spark arrestor screen and secure the cover.

• Engine will not start:
  • Check fuel level.
