4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The Fenix TK22R comes with the ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery pre-installed. To access the battery compartment or replace the battery:
- Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight.
- Insert the Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight.
- Screw the tail cap back on securely.
4.2 Charging the Flashlight
The TK22R features a hidden USB-C charging port for convenience and water resistance.
- Loosen the light head by twisting it counter-clockwise to reveal the USB-C charging port.
- Plug the provided USB-C charging cable into the port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer).
- The battery level indicator will display red while charging and turn green when fully charged.
- The normal charging time from depleted to fully charged is approximately 3.5 hours.
- Once charging is complete, tighten the light head securely to ensure waterproof performance.

5. Operating Instructions
The Fenix TK22R features a patented dual-function tactical tail switch and a Flexisensa control toggle switch for easy operation.
5.1 Power On/Off
- To turn on: Fully press the tactical tail switch.
- To turn off: Fully press the tactical tail switch again.
- Momentary On: Half-press and hold the tactical tail switch. Release to turn off.
5.2 Mode Selection (Flexisensa Control Toggle Switch)
Rotate the Flexisensa control toggle switch located near the tail cap to select between three main modes: Tactical Mode, Duty Mode, and Lockout Mode.
- Tactical Mode: Optimized for immediate tactical activation. Offers Turbo and Strobe outputs.
- Duty Mode: Provides multiple brightness levels for general use. Offers Low, Medium, High, and Turbo outputs.
- Lockout Mode: Prevents accidental activation.

5.3 Brightness Level Selection
Once the flashlight is ON, half-press the tactical tail switch to cycle through the brightness levels within the selected mode.
- In Duty Mode: Cycle through Low → Medium → High → Turbo.
- In Tactical Mode: Cycle through Turbo → Strobe.
The flashlight features an intelligent memory circuit that recalls the last selected output (including Strobe and Turbo) when turned on again.

6.2 Battery Care
To ensure optimal battery life and performance:
- Charge the battery fully before first use.
- Recharge the battery when the battery level indicator shows low power.
- Store the flashlight with a partially charged battery if not used for extended periods.
- Avoid fully depleting the battery frequently.
7. Troubleshooting
If your Fenix TK22R is not functioning correctly, please try the following steps:
- Flashlight not turning on:
- Ensure the battery is correctly inserted with the positive (+) end facing the head.
- Check if the battery is charged. Connect to a charger and observe the indicator light.
- Ensure the light head and tail cap are fully tightened. A loose connection can prevent operation.
- Verify the Flexisensa control toggle switch is not in Lockout Mode. Rotate it to Tactical or Duty Mode.
- Light output is dim or flickering:
- The battery may be low. Recharge the battery fully.
- Clean the battery contacts and the flashlight's internal contact points with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.
- Check the O-rings for damage or dryness. Lubricate or replace if necessary.
- Charging issues:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is properly connected and the light head is loosened to expose the charging port.
- Try a different USB power source or cable to rule out faulty equipment.
- Ensure the charging port is clean and free of debris.
