Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your UGREEN DisplayPort cable, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Handle with Care: Avoid excessive bending or twisting of the cable, especially near the connectors, to prevent internal damage.
  • Secure Connections: Always ensure the connectors are fully and securely inserted into the DisplayPort ports. Avoid pulling the cable by the cord; always grasp the connector housing when plugging or unplugging.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the connectors free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the connectors if necessary.
  • Storage: When not in use, coil the cable loosely. The included Velcro tie can be used for neat storage and portability. Avoid tight coiling or knotting.
  • Environmental Conditions: Use the cable in indoor environments. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or excessive moisture.

The cable's braided nylon jacket and aluminum case are designed for durability and heat dissipation, contributing to its long-term reliability.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while using your UGREEN DisplayPort cable, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • No Display/Black Screen:
    • Ensure both ends of the DisplayPort cable are securely connected to your source and display devices.
    • Verify that your display is set to the correct input source (e.g., DisplayPort 1, DP).
    • Check if your source device (e.g., computer) is powered on and outputting a signal.
    • Test the cable with another DisplayPort-compatible device or try a different DisplayPort cable if available to isolate the issue.
  • Flickering Screen or Signal Loss:
    • Ensure the cable is not damaged or kinked.
    • Reduce the resolution or refresh rate settings on your source device to see if the issue persists.
    • Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version.
    • Check for any electromagnetic interference from other electronic devices.
  • No Audio:
    • Verify that your computer's audio output is set to the DisplayPort device.
    • Ensure your display device's speakers are enabled and volume is turned up, or that external speakers are properly connected.
  • Compatibility Issues:
    • Remember, this cable is for standard DisplayPort connections only. It is not compatible with HDMI or Mini DisplayPort.
    • If using an adapter, ensure the adapter is active and supports the desired resolution and refresh rate.
