1. Introduction

The OneCarStereo Smart AI Box is designed to transform your wired CarPlay system into a versatile wireless entertainment hub. It enables wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allows for app downloads like Netflix and YouTube, and supports media playback via TF card. This device enhances your in-car experience by providing seamless connectivity and a wide range of entertainment options.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your OneCarStereo Smart AI Box, please verify that all the following components are included:

3. Compatibility Requirements

Before using the Smart AI Box, ensure your vehicle meets the following critical requirements:

1. Your vehicle must be equipped with factory-installed wired CarPlay. This device does not add CarPlay functionality to vehicles that lack it.
2. The device is designed for cars with an OEM factory car stereo. Older car models may not support the Smart AI Box.

The Smart AI Box is compatible with iOS 10.0+ and Android 11.0+ smartphones.

4. Setup and Connection

4.1 Initial Connection

Connect the Smart AI Box to your car's USB port that supports wired CarPlay. Use the appropriate USB cable provided (Type-C to Type-C or USB to Type-C) based on your car's interface.

4.2 Wireless Apple CarPlay Connection

1. Ensure your car's Bluetooth is turned on.
2. On your iPhone, go to Settings, turn on WLAN (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth.
3. In Bluetooth settings, find and pair with "Smart Ai Box".
4. A prompt "Use CarPlay with 'SpeedPlay'?" may appear. Click "Use CarPlay".
5. The Apple CarPlay interface should now appear on your car's display.

4.3 Wireless Android Auto Connection

1. First, ensure your car's Bluetooth is turned on.
2. On your Android phone, download the "Android Auto" app from the Play Store in advance.
3. Open the "SpeedPlay" app on your car's display.
4. On your Android phone, go to Settings, turn on Bluetooth.
5. In Bluetooth settings, find and pair with "Smart Ai Box".
6. The Android Auto interface should now appear on your car's display.

Important Note:

• - You need to disconnect your phone's hotspot first to connect Wireless CarPlay & Wireless Android Auto.
• - Before using Android Auto, please make sure the latest Android Auto app is installed on your smartphone. Enable "wireless Android Auto" on Android Auto app settings.

4.4 Internet Connection (for App Downloads & Streaming)

To access online apps like Netflix and YouTube, the Smart AI Box needs an internet connection. This is typically done via your mobile phone's personal hotspot.

1. On your phone, turn on your personal hotspot.
2. On the car's display, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
3. Select your phone's hotspot from the list of available networks and enter the password.
4. Once connected, the Smart AI Box will have internet access.

Important Note:

• - When using your phone to share a hotspot with the box to access the Internet, please turn off your phone's Bluetooth first.
• - The internet function of the box (e.g., connecting to your phone's hotspot to watch YouTube) cannot be used simultaneously with wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto because both of these functions require the box's Wi-Fi channel to transmit data. If you have two phones or a mobile Wi-Fi device, you can use one device to provide network connectivity to the box, while the other phone can be used to connect to the wireless functions.

4.5 Wireless MirrorLink Connection

The Smart AI Box supports wireless mirroring for both Apple AirPlay and Android Wireless MirrorLink.

• For Apple AirPlay, open the "Easyconn" app on your car's display.
• For Android MirrorLink, install the "Carbitlink" app on your phone before connecting.

5. Operating the Smart AI Box

5.1 App Downloads and Streaming

Once connected to the internet, you can download and use various apps directly on your car's display. The device comes with pre-installed apps like Netflix and YouTube.

• Access the Google Play Store to download additional apps such as Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, Spotify, and more.
• The Qualcomm 4-core chip with dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) ensures reduced latency and smoother streaming.

5.2 Media Playback via TF Card

• Device Not Connecting:
  • Ensure your car has factory-installed wired CarPlay.
  • Verify that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone and the car's system.
  • If previously connected to other devices, manually forget those connections on your phone and car.
  • Try using a different USB port in your car, if available.
  • Restart the Smart AI Box by unplugging and re-plugging it.
• No Internet Access:
  • Confirm your phone's personal hotspot is active and correctly configured.
  • Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is turned off when using the hotspot for internet access on the box.
  • Check the Wi-Fi password entered on the car's display.
• Audio/Video Lag or Disconnections:
  • Check your internet connection stability. A strong Wi-Fi signal is crucial for streaming.
  • Ensure no other devices are interfering with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection.
  • Restart both the Smart AI Box and your smartphone.
• Apps Not Downloading/Working:
  • Verify stable internet connection.
  • Ensure you are signed into your Google account in the Play Store on the car's display.
  • Check for available updates for the apps or the Smart AI Box firmware.
