2. Safety Information
Please read all safety instructions carefully before operating the chiller. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Ensure the chiller is placed on a stable, level surface.
- Maintain at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clear space around all sides of the unit for proper ventilation and heat dissipation.
- Do not operate the chiller with damaged cords or plugs.
- Keep all electrical connections dry and away from water.
- Always unplug the unit before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or when not in use.
- Do not immerse the chiller in water.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Do not use the chiller for purposes other than its intended use (aquarium, hydroponics, or cold plunge water cooling).

4. Setup
Follow these steps to properly set up your BAOSHISHAN BSSPRO-500 Aquarium Chiller.
- Unpacking and Initial Placement: After receiving the product, allow it to stand upright for at least 24 hours before use. Place the chiller on a stable, level surface, ensuring at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clearance around all sides for adequate airflow. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
- Connect Input and Output Attachments: Install the provided input and output attachment pieces (angled connectors) onto the chiller's ports. Secure them with the hose clamps.
- Connect Hoses: Cut the 3-meter hose into two equal halves for connection. Connect one hose from the chiller's output port to your aquarium/cold plunge tub's water inlet. Connect the other hose from your water pump's outlet to the chiller's input port.
- Position Water Pump: Place the water pump inside your aquarium or cold plunge tub, ensuring it is fully submerged and positioned to draw water effectively.
- Fill System and Check for Leaks: Fill your aquarium or cold plunge tub with water. Power up the water pump (not the chiller yet) to circulate water through the system. Carefully inspect all connections for any leaks. Address any leaks before proceeding.
- Power On Chiller: Once the system is leak-free and water is circulating, plug in the chiller's power cord and turn it on.

5. Operating Instructions
The BAOSHISHAN BSSPRO-500 features precise temperature control for optimal performance.
Temperature Setting
The chiller uses a PID algorithm for accurate temperature maintenance within a set range of ±2°F. Follow these steps to set your desired water temperature:
- Set Target Temperature: Press the SET key. Use the up/down arrows to adjust to your desired target temperature (e.g., 68°F). Press the RST key to confirm and return.
- Set Temperature Difference (Hysteresis): Long press the SET key until the F1 code appears.
- Press the SET key again and use the up/down arrows to adjust the temperature difference (e.g., to 10). This means if your target is 68°F and difference is 10, the chiller will start cooling at 78°F and stop at 68°F.

Summer Cooling Tips
- For prolonged cooling in hot environments, consider reducing the water volume to 105 gallons or less.
- Ensure the chiller is placed away from walls and direct sunlight to maximize cooling efficiency.
- Always maintain at least 6 inches of space around the unit's vents for optimal heat dissipation.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your chiller.
Cleaning
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the chiller with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ventilation Grilles: Periodically check and clean the ventilation grilles on the sides of the unit to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can hinder heat dissipation. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
- Hoses and Connections: Inspect hoses and connections regularly for signs of wear, cracks, or blockages. Clean any algae or buildup inside the hoses as needed.
Water Quality
- Ensure the water circulating through the chiller is clean and free of large particles. Use appropriate filtration in your aquarium or cold plunge tub to prevent debris from entering the chiller's system.
Storage
- If storing the chiller for an extended period, drain all water from the unit and hoses. Clean the interior and exterior thoroughly. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
7. Troubleshooting
Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions. If the problem persists, contact customer support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Chiller not turning on | No power, loose connection, power outage | Check power cord, wall outlet, and circuit breaker. Ensure all connections are secure. |
| Water not cooling | Insufficient ventilation, incorrect temperature setting, pump not working, dirty condenser | Ensure 6-inch clearance around chiller. Verify temperature settings. Check if water pump is running. Clean condenser fins. |
| Water flow is weak or stopped | Pump clogged, kinked hose, airlock in system | Clean water pump impeller. Check hoses for kinks. Bleed air from the system by gently shaking hoses or restarting pump. |
| Chiller is noisy | Fan obstruction, unit not level, internal issue | Check for obstructions in the fan. Ensure the unit is on a level surface. If noise persists, contact support. |
| Leaks at connections | Loose hose clamps, improperly seated gaskets, damaged hoses | Tighten hose clamps. Ensure gaskets are correctly seated. Replace any damaged hoses. |
