3. Setup

3.1 Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2. The small second hand (if present) will stop.
  2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the 24-hour indicator sub-dial also reflects the correct AM/PM time.
  3. Push the crown back to position 0 (normal position) to start the watch.

3.2 Setting the Date (if applicable)

The VK64 movement does not typically feature a date display. If your specific model includes a date window, follow these steps:

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date.
  3. Push the crown back to position 0.

Note: Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the time falls within this period, adjust the time outside this range, set the date, then reset the time.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the Chronograph (Stopwatch)

The VK64 movement features a chronograph function for measuring elapsed time.

  1. Start: Press pusher A (top pusher) to start the chronograph. The central chronograph second hand will begin to move, and the chronograph minute sub-dial will track elapsed minutes.
  2. Stop: Press pusher A again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time can be read from the central second hand and the minute sub-dial.
  3. Reset: After stopping, press pusher B (bottom pusher) to reset the chronograph. The central second hand and minute sub-dial will return to their zero positions.

4.2 Tachymeter Function

The tachymeter scale on the bezel can be used to measure speed over a known distance (e.g., 1 kilometer or 1 mile).

  1. Start the chronograph when you begin the measured distance (e.g., passing a starting point).
  2. Stop the chronograph when you complete the distance (e.g., passing the 1 km mark).
  3. The number on the tachymeter scale corresponding to the position of the central chronograph second hand indicates the average speed (units per hour).

5. Maintenance

5.1 Water Resistance

Your watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This means it can withstand splashes, rain, and is suitable for swimming. However, please observe the following precautions:

  • Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in and tightened before exposing the watch to water.
  • Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
  • Avoid wearing the watch during diving or hot showers. Hot water and steam can compromise the waterproof seals.
  • After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.

5.2 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For stainless steel bands, a soft brush and mild soapy water can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.3 Battery Replacement

The VK64 movement is a quartz movement powered by a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (low battery indicator), the battery needs to be replaced. It is recommended to have battery replacement performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
