2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.

  • Exhaust Fumes: Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Never operate the generator indoors or in enclosed spaces. Ensure adequate ventilation when operating outdoors.
  • Electrical Shock: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly grounded. Never touch live electrical parts.
  • Fire Hazard: Diesel fuel is flammable. Always refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator. Store fuel in approved containers.
  • Hot Surfaces: The generator engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for a period after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns.
  • Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts such as the fan and belts.

4. Setup

Before starting the generator, ensure it is properly set up according to these instructions.

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  • Carefully remove the generator from its packaging.
  • Place the generator on a firm, level surface outdoors, away from windows, doors, and vents. Ensure at least 1 meter (3 feet) of clear space around the generator for proper ventilation.

4.2 Oil Filling

The generator requires engine oil for operation. Use Motul 15W40 mineral oil.

  1. Open the maintenance cover on the side of the generator.
  2. Unscrew the oil filler cap.
  3. Using a funnel, carefully fill the oil reservoir with the recommended oil until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  4. Re-insert the dipstick without screwing it in to check the oil level. The oil level should be at the upper mark.
  5. Once filled, screw the oil filler cap back on securely and close the maintenance cover.

4.3 Fuel Filling

The generator operates on diesel fuel. Ensure you use clean, fresh diesel fuel.

  1. Unscrew the fuel tank cap located on the top of the generator.
  2. Using a clean funnel, carefully pour diesel fuel into the tank. Do not overfill; leave some space for expansion.
  3. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately and thoroughly before proceeding.
  4. Securely replace the fuel tank cap.

4.4 Purging the Fuel Circuit

Before the first start or after running out of fuel, the fuel circuit may need to be purged of air.

  1. Locate the fuel line connection to the fuel pump.
  2. Using two pliers, gently pinch the fuel tube and open the clamp to release the connection.
  3. Allow fuel to flow out until it is free of air bubbles, indicating the tube is full of fuel.
  4. Reconnect the fuel tube and secure the clamp.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to start and operate your generator safely.

5.1 Starting the Generator

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all connections are secure.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition switch on the control panel.
  3. Turn the key to the 'START' position. The display screen will illuminate.
  4. Press the green 'START' button on the control panel. After a brief countdown, the generator will begin to crank and start.
  5. Allow the generator to run for a few minutes to warm up before connecting any electrical loads.

5.2 Stopping the Generator

  1. Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
  2. Press the red 'STOP' button on the control panel. After a brief countdown, the generator will shut down.
  3. Turn the ignition key to the 'OFF' position and remove it for security.

5.3 Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Functionality

The ATS system allows the generator to automatically activate during a power outage.

  • Ensure the ATS switch on the control panel is set to 'AUTO'.
  • When the main power supply fails, the ATS system will detect the outage and automatically start the generator.
  • Once main power is restored, the ATS system will automatically shut down the generator and transfer the load back to the main supply.

5.4 Solar System Support

This generator can function as a backup for photovoltaic installations, automatically switching to charge batteries when the main electrical grid is unavailable.
