4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation (D-Cell Batteries)

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 4 D-cell batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+ and -) inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2. Charging the Internal Battery

1. Connect the provided Type-C charging cord to the charging port on the side of the radio.
2. Connect the other end of the Type-C charging cord to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port on a computer.
3. The charging indicator light will illuminate (typically red) to show that the radio is charging.
4. Once fully charged, the indicator light may change color or turn off (refer to the display for battery level).

5.1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

To power on the radio, rotate the POWER knob clockwise. Continue rotating to increase the volume. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.

5.2. Band Selection

Press the BAND button repeatedly to cycle through available bands: AM, FM, SW, and WB.

5.3. Tuning and Station Presets

The radio features digital tuning for precise frequency selection.

• Manual Tuning: Use the tuning knob on the side to manually adjust the frequency.
• Direct Frequency Input: Use the number buttons (0-9) on the front panel to directly input a desired frequency.
• Automatic Scan: Press and hold the SCAN button to automatically search for and store available stations. The radio can preset up to 40 stations per band.
• Manual Search: Briefly press the SCAN button to search for the next available station.
• Accessing Presets: Use the P- and P+ buttons to navigate through stored preset stations.
• Deleting Presets: To delete a stored station, select the station using P- or P+, then press and hold the DELETE button.

5.4. NOAA Weather Alert

When on the Weather Band (WB), the radio can automatically detect and alert you to hazardous weather conditions. Ensure the radio is powered on and tuned to a WB frequency for this feature to function.

5.5. Music Playback (USB/TF Card)

To play MP3 audio files:

1. Insert a USB disk or TF (Micro SD) card containing MP3 files into the corresponding slot on the side of the radio.
2. Press the MODE button to switch to USB or TF card playback mode.
3. Use the track navigation buttons (|<< and >>|) to skip between songs.
4. The number buttons can also be used to directly select track numbers.

5.6. Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows you to set the radio to automatically turn off after a specified period (0-90 minutes). Press the SLEEP button to activate and adjust the timer setting.

5.7. Keylock Function

To prevent accidental button presses, activate the keylock function by pressing and holding the LOCK button. The display will show a lock icon. Repeat the action to unlock.

For private listening, plug 3.5mm headphones (not included) into the earphone jack on the side of the radio. The internal speaker will automatically mute.
