1. Introduction

Welcome to the world of HABA Würfelkönig Junior! This instruction manual provides detailed guidance on how to set up and play this exciting board game. Würfelkönig Junior is a game designed for children aged 4 and up, where players compete to build a magnificent castle for the new Dice King.

The objective is to be the first player to complete their castle by collecting 5 specific game cards. Players use three dice to achieve various conditions shown on the game cards. Wooden crowns serve as helpful jokers to overcome unsuccessful dice rolls.

  2. Shuffle Game Cards: Shuffle the 40 game cards thoroughly and place them face down in a draw pile within reach of all players.

4. Gameplay

The game proceeds in turns, with players attempting to collect game cards to build their castle.

4.1 Player Turn

  1. Draw a Card: At the beginning of their turn, the active player draws the top game card from the draw pile. This card shows a specific dice combination or symbol requirement.
  2. Roll Dice: The player rolls all four dice.
  3. Match Symbols: The player must try to match the symbols shown on the drawn game card with the results of their dice roll.
    • If the player successfully matches the required symbols, they keep the game card and place it next to their castle courtyard.
    • If the player cannot match the symbols, they can choose to use their wooden crown as a joker.
  4. Using a Crown (Joker): If a player uses a wooden crown, they can change one die face to any desired symbol. The used crown is then returned to the general supply.
  5. End of Turn: If the player successfully collected a card (either by rolling or using a crown), their turn ends. If they could not collect a card and did not use a crown (or had no crowns left), the drawn card is returned to the bottom of the draw pile, and their turn ends.
