5. Setup
Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Position the PA system on a stable, flat surface or mount it on a compatible pole stand. Ensure adequate space for ventilation.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the AC IN port on the rear panel and then to a suitable power outlet. Alternatively, ensure the internal battery is charged or connect an external 12V DC source.
- Initial Charge: For first use, it is recommended to fully charge the internal battery. The CHARGE indicator will illuminate during charging.
- Microphone Setup:
- Handheld Microphone: Insert fresh batteries (not included) into the handheld microphone. Turn on the microphone.
- Headset Microphone: Connect the headset microphone to the bodypack transmitter. Insert fresh batteries (not included) into the bodypack transmitter. Turn on the transmitter.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on the unit, press the POWER switch on the rear panel to the 'ON' position.
- To power off, press the POWER switch to the 'OFF' position.
6.2 Bluetooth Connectivity
- Turn on the PA system.
- Press the 'MODE' button on the MP3 control panel until 'BT' appears on the digital display. The Bluetooth indicator will flash, indicating pairing mode.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), search for available Bluetooth devices.
- Select 'TRAVELSOUND12-VHF' from the list. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
- You can now play audio from your device through the PA system.
6.3 USB/SD Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive or SD card (with MP3 audio files) into the corresponding slot on the MP3 control panel.
- The system will automatically switch to USB or SD mode and begin playback. If not, press the 'MODE' button to select the correct source.
- Use the 'PLAY/PAUSE', 'PREV', and 'NEXT' buttons to control playback.
6.4 FM Radio
- Press the 'MODE' button until 'FM' appears on the digital display.
- Press the 'PLAY/PAUSE' button to initiate an automatic scan for FM stations. The system will save detected stations.
- Use the 'PREV' and 'NEXT' buttons to navigate through the saved stations.
6.5 Microphone Usage
- Ensure the handheld and headset microphones (with bodypack) are powered on.
- Adjust the 'MIC LEVEL' knob on the rear panel to control the volume of the wireless microphones.
- Use the 'MIC PRIORITY' switch to automatically lower music volume when a microphone is in use.
- For wired microphones, connect them to the MIC 1 or MIC 2 (6.35mm Jack or XLR) inputs and adjust their respective 'MIC LEVEL' knobs.
6.6 Audio Input/Output
- Line Input: Connect external audio sources (e.g., CD player, mixer) to the LINE INPUT (RCA or 6.35mm Jack) and adjust the 'LINE LEVEL' knob.
- Instrument Input: Connect an instrument (e.g., guitar) to the GUITAR INPUT and adjust the 'GUITAR LEVEL' knob.
- Line Output: Use the LINE OUTPUT (XLR) to connect the PA system to another amplifier or recording device.
6.7 TWS (True Wireless Stereo) Function
The TWS function allows you to pair two TRAVELSOUND12-VHF units for stereo sound:
- Ensure both TRAVELSOUND12-VHF units are powered on and in Bluetooth mode.
- On one unit (this will be the master), press and hold the 'TWS' button (if available, or a combination of buttons as per specific model instructions, typically the 'MODE' button for a few seconds). The unit will search for another TWS-compatible speaker.
- Once connected, the master unit will indicate TWS pairing, and audio played via Bluetooth to the master unit will be distributed in stereo to both speakers.
6.8 Audio Controls
- VOLUME: Master volume control for overall sound output.
- BASS/TREBLE: Adjusts the low and high frequencies of the music.
- MIC BASS/TREBLE: Adjusts the low and high frequencies specifically for the microphone inputs.
- ECHO/DELAY: Adds echo and delay effects to the microphone inputs.
7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures longevity and optimal performance:
- Cleaning: Disconnect the unit from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the battery regularly, even if the unit is not in use, at least once every 3 months.
- Microphones: Store microphones in a protective case to prevent damage. Remove batteries from microphones if not used for a long time to prevent leakage.
